To find those brigands, and rescue that cake!

Advantages: Great tale and illustrations
Disadvantages: Nothing really

...and is the sequel to Small Knight and George, where our budding young knight is sent forth to find and fight a dragon. For that's what brave knights do! Small Knight finds and befriends George, a small dragon who ends up coming back to the castle with him and living there. In this next book, the King and Queen are coming to stay, and they have sent a letter specifically asking cook to bake a huge chocolate cake. Howeve, while they're all sleeping, ...
...and stolen the cake. Small Knight and George are sent to find those brigands and rescue that cake. Ronda Armitage is a wonderful children's author. I remember her classic, The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch, from when I was a kid, and we still read it to our son. However, he prefers this book, and it's a very entertaining tale of adventure. Small Knight takes us through the woods, and I like doing the different voices for the different characters. I ...

Sabrina Spellman, played by actress Melissa Joan Hart in the television series, is a teenage witch living in the mortal realm in America, initially with her two Aunts; Hilda and Zelda, and her pet cat Salem (whom was once a warlock sentenced to 100 years as a house pet for attempted world domination). Sabrina the Teenage Witch was a hit TV series in the 90s, with a total of eight successful seasons. Although it is no longer in production, it is still ...
...into the young witch's life, where we see her attempt to cope with being both a witch and a teenager at the same time. With the series' a wide range of merchandise was released for its fans. Among the dolls and console games, a large amount of books could be fond, including the collection of novelizations. Book number #11 is 'Prisoner of Cabin 13'. Each cover has its own unique design, and this one is definitely an eye catcher. It has a gorgeous ...

Ghostgirl: Funny but not exactly wonderful.

Advantages: Humorous, interesting storyline, good artwork.
Disadvantages: One dimensional characters, a dislikable main character, disappointing ending.

...children have quite unique deaths). Ghostgirl follows several high-school clichés concerning the teenagers so I wasn't surprised when they did start sticking to those clichés lines that you hear so many times on television dramas and books concerning schools. I did enjoy the artwork though which can be found at the beginning of each chapter, showing a goth-esque black and white drawing of Charlotte. It's very pretty and is in cartoon/manga art ...
...entered death but halfway through Ghostgirl she became shallower and petty, I found her dislikeable after that and was starting to cheer for her 'enemy' (another ghost called Prue) to stop her so that someone else might be able to be the main character but her whingeing and scheming continued until the very disappointing and quick ending came. The conflict between Charlotte's dead-life seemed to finish quickly and extremely unrealistically concerning ...

Will Muffin Ever Learn to Fly?

Advantages: easy to read, good story, nice and bright pages
Disadvantages: none

3rd and Bird is a popular children’s show which is shown on the CBEEBIES channel. As a result of its popularity the merchandise began to fill the shops. It was actually at the school boo fair where my youngest spotted this book and decided that he would like to buy it! The book is the paperback edition which has a lovely bright front cover. There is a picture of Muffin and Samuel and the books title in nice bright Yellow lettering. There is also ...
...must be someone else on 3rd and Bird who could help her so they set off to find their friend Rudy. Rudy suggests that Muffin should sit on his kite and when in the sir she will soon fly but Muffin was too heavy for the kit. Will there be anyone else who can help Muffin fly and just what will the lesson to learn be? I was quite impressed with this book. Throughout it is very bright and colourful. I found the story was good and my youngest did enjoy ...
