So, What DO people Do All day?
Review of What Do People Do All Day? - Richard Scarry by Shroud

Advantages: fun and educational, find out all about dfferent jobs and how they affect the community
Disadvantages: none really

...including 1968's most famous entry, What do People do All Day? A very private person, not much more is really known about Richard Scarry, other than by his works. He was quite prolific, having completed over 300 works, and was married to children's writer and fellow Golden Book author Patricia and they have a son, Richard Scarry Jr (also known as Huck after one of his most famous Busy Town characters) who also illustrates for children. In 1972 Richard ...
...~~~~The book and what Mommy thinks~~~ As its title suggests, the book is about what people do all day. Since different people all do different things, the book covers a lot of topics. The first section looks at Busy Town itself along the high street. This book truly shines with some of the best examples of Scarry's illustrations, as we see the town above ground, and below ground in intricate detail. We see the men digging tunnels and the underground ... Read review

Where the wild things are
Review of Where the Wild Things Are - Maurice Sendak by giantpanda21

Advantages: An enjoyable book to read
Disadvantages: None

Where the wild things are by Maurice Sendak has been one of my favourite books since i had the book when i was a little girl. My mum has just recently purchased this book again for her 3 grandchildren to read. What is where the wild things are about? The book is based on a little boy named Max who is dressed in his wolf suit and makes mischief in one kind and another. Max is sent to bed without any tea and in his room a forest grows and he sails ...
...sons. I would recommend this book to any parent whose child likes this book to buy it it will be worth the money. Where the wild things are can be purchased at book shops such as Ottakars and waterstones for around £5.99 but could possibly buy it cheaper at amazon.co.uk ... Read review

Thirty Stories
Review of Wayside School Is Falling Down - Louis Sachar by ruth_cole

Advantages: anarchic, original and funny
Disadvantages: could, I suppose, get old quite quickly

...Redpost series and this, the Wayside School Series. I should point out that this is actually the second book in the series but, crucially, I didn’t know that until after I’d finished it. So I’d hazard a guess at saying that while each book in the series appears to lead on from the last, the characters are so well drawn and the plot (or should I say plots?) so anarchic, that each volume can probably be read as a stand-alone book. And indeed I am ...
...children would prefer to. Wayside School is… well, frankly, it’s weird. Built, in error, one classroom wide but thirty storeys high (and yet missing the nineteenth floor) it is the home of the lovely Mrs. Jewls, successor to (gulp, don’t say her name too loud!) Mrs. Gorf, whose saga is recounted in the previous book, Sideways Tales from Wayside School. Mrs. Jewls presides over her class, whose various foibles are listed at the start of the book. ... Where the Fairies Fly by Jane Simmons Written by the creator of the bestselling “Daisy” books, this is a book which was always going to be popular with Little Miss. ~~The Story~~ The story centres around Lucy, who, we discover, loves to tell stories, and her younger brother Jamie. What Colour Is Love?
Review of What Colour is Love? - David Wojtowycz, Linda Strachan by neenn

Advantages: Introduces colours and animals to young children.
Disadvantages: None

...who wants to find out what colour love is and begins to ask different animals who are in his vicinity. ~ Old wrinkly Grandad asks if it could be green, but grass is green so love might be blue? ~ The little elephant then asks the tiger if love is blue and he responds with, since the sky is blue, perhaps love is yellow. ~ He then moves on to the lion and asks if yellow is the colour of love. The lion says "This hot sun is yellow - isn't love red?" ...
