Thirteen Reasons Why is an amazing book that keeps the reader entertained at all times. In the reader and Clay's search for understanding, the author brings the characters to life and I could almost feel as if I was listening to Hannah's tapes and hearing what she had to say. This ingenious plot is as the critics say, is spectacular. S-Now this is a great book! Advantages: Sweet story, lovely pictures, basic language, good talking points throughout Disadvantages: None ...a friend to play with. The snow cloud feels sorry for him and tries to help. He snows gently to make it form an owl, but Polar Bear doesn't realise that it isn't real and hopes to play. Sadly, the next day, the owl melts away and the Polar Bear is alone once more. The snow cloud tries a few more time to snow a friend for Polar Bear but again, they melt away. Until one day... another polar bear appears but Polar Bear dares not get his hopes up... ... ...children's book, they can stand the test of time and children will always enjoy a good story as long as it is interesting enough! I finally persuaded Harry to read it this weekend, and luckily he loved it! The first thing I noticed about this book was the beautiful illustrations. Because of the setting and the main character, there is really only a presence of shades of blue, green and white in the book, but somehow it works. A truly beautiful book that every animal lover must read Advantages: See Review Disadvantages: See Review Black Beauty is, quite simply, my favourite piece of literature. It's magical how captivating a story with the simple moral message of 'be kind to animals and other humans' can be. First off, a little bit of the history and background to Black Beauty that I promised in the film review. Black Beauty was first published in 1877, and was Sewells first and only book. Anna Sewell was an incredibly passionate animal lover and therefore you could possibly ... ...The story and message of Black Beauty is quite simple; we watch and listen as a young colt grows up in Victorian England, a time where animal welfare was a little bit lacking. The RSPCA existed but had yet to gain popular backing as animal welfare was still regarded as a bit of an oddity, after all, animals such as horses and cows were only good for food and work! Shh, it's a Secret! Advantages: plot, characters, price Disadvantages: / ...is Two of a Kind. The show is about Mary Kate and Ashley Burke, two twins who live with their Dad Kevin, and spend a lot of their time with their babysitter Carrie. Mary Kate is the sporty one, and Ashley is the girlie one, and so the story goes. The show was such a success that books were also created, and one of these is 'Sleepover Secret'. This particular book can be recognized by its gorgeous pink colour with the Two of a Kind logo at the top. ... ...though this is one of the occasions where it is hard to tell the fraternal twins apart. It is definitely an interesting cover, that's for sure. The book is written by Judy Katschke, who writes a lot of the books in the series. She has a great style of writing, making the book an interesting read as ever. The book itself tells the story of the Burke twins. Cats chase mice - or do they? Advantages: Full of humour Disadvantages: Story not wildly exciting Splat the Cat wakes up early on his first day at Cat School. He is worried about starting school and makes all sorts of excuses for not going: he's having a bad hair day, or the gate won't let go of his fingers. Mum, however, has an answer for everything, so he makes sure he has his pet mouse, Seymour, in his lunch box for company, and off they go.
