Go to the zoo to see the doo-doo!

Advantages: Fun, engaging, good way to introduce potty training
Disadvantages: None

Zoo Poo is a book written by Richard Morgan and published by Red Fox books. This book is a toilet training book, but I didn’t pick it up for that reason, the picture of the little boy on the front made it look appealing to me. It is essentially about a l ...

Zagazoo - a brilliant book, especially for boys/parents of boys

Advantages: Quirky, warm, funny and surprisingly deep!
Disadvantages: A big (albeit light) book, so little babies will need you to hold it for them

The image that Ciao is choosing to illustrate this book is completely wrong - it's actually an A4-sized book with a white background and a typical wild Quentin Blake illustration on the front of a couple opening a brightly-coloured parcel to find a baby i ...

A very different version of Snow White..

Advantages: likeable characters, and original retelling
Disadvantages: not much character development besides Zelah's

I really loved Zelah Green by Vanessa Curtis. I was told beforehand that it's a very loose retelling of Snow White, but if I hadn't known that, it probably wouldn't have been obvious to me while reading it as there is so much that is different. And I do l ...
