Noughts and Crosses - the first in a gripping series
Advantages: Tragedy, Romance, Hope, Politics and Action all rolled into one something for everyone Disadvantages: short, points brought across a little too soon
Noughts and Crosses is a must read book for people of all ages (i recommend 12+). through out this book i was oohing and aahing not willing to put the book down. When it came to finishing the first i had to move onto the second book (An Eye For An Eye), going out the next day to buy the rest of the series. But focusing on this book. Its a tragic tale (and dare i say it) "of two star-crossed lovers" but with twists and turns around every corner, when ... ...next. We start the novel following young Callum McGregor and young Sephy Hadley across the field playing as if their was no problems in the world and at that age why should their be they didn't have a care in the world he was a boy and she was a girls to them there was no other differences. Little do they know in the not so distant future they begin to learn What their differences are. Adding to the "shock factor" Callum shows exactly how much Sephy ...

The boy in the striped pyjamas : A sad but true story
Advantages: It tells the truth about what life was like for some people. Disadvantages: There are none.
In my opinion for the looks of the book i think it has an excellent book cover which can give many ideas to what it is about and can be quite upsetting depending on which way you interprit it. I got the book as a birthday present and as i started to read it, it became an obsession as i wanted to find out what happened. It is a real clifhanger at the end and when i finished the book , i sat down for half-an-hour and just thought about it. I did cry ... ...war 2, germany and tells the tale of a young boy and his life living in a new place, his new friend and finally how this story ends. It is definetley a "one to buy " especially if someone you know is interested in its theme, i wasn't at first but when i started i couldn't stop. ...

My three old daughter seem can’t get enough reading Dr Seuss’s books!!!
The rhyme, rhythm and repetition are catchy n wacky!!! For Dr Seuss’s books….READ THEM ALOUD to your child!!! (no screaming or shouting please…hehehe) .
My Little Missy enjoyed when someone read it aloud for her. As for this book, you may want to read the alphabet with a phonic sound. Since my daughter started to learnt phonic, she practiced it while reading this book. Both ...

About a Boy
Advantages: Wonderfully written, full of Dahl's delightful storytelling ability Disadvantages: Over all too quickly
As an English Teacher, I come across all manner of extracts from assorted novels in textbooks - selected paragraphs of Potter, or snippets of Orwell and Huxley chosen for some part of the language they contain. However, no author seems to feature as regularly as Roald Dahl; perhaps it's because his books are especially accessible, or perhaps there's something essentially English in character about his writing. In any case, I always enjoy coming across ... ...read dozens of times before are still delightfully funny, clever and fresh. Boy is the first part of Roald Dahl's autobiography, published in 1984 and covering the first twenty years of his life. From his earliest memories and childhood holidays up to the day he left school and set off for the world of work, this memoir recounts a range of the moments Dahl remembered most fondly. There are plenty of gaps here - Boy is more of a highlights reel than ...
