Will we ever read another book...

Advantages: Lovely book, full of information
Disadvantages: Tends to come off the shelf a little too frequently...

Overview If you know kids, you'll know that once they find a book they like... you could be reading it for weeks or months! They love this at bedtime... its truly colourful for my little 3 year old with some lovely pictures, graphics and a real 'usborne' feel. For my 6 year old... he is fascinated by facts, and the well designed maps, information and knowledge of other places in the world. It has maps of the whole world, with beautiful childrens ...
...and facts and figures. My mum and dad travel alot now they are retired, and following Nanny and Grandad on their travels really brings their understanding and the book to life. The book offers excellent value for money, and is constantly being bought out at bed time. Summary This book is lovely to read, and i recommend it for your bedtime/daytime reads! The only issue we now have is that I am starting to get fed up with the same story night after ...

Let's speak Italian

Advantages: Good overview of the language
Disadvantages: Don't bother with the quicklink

...~~The Book~~ In typical usborne style, this is a nice big, brightly coloured book, so nothing threatening for young children. On the front is a picture of a busy farmyard scene, with words and pictures dotted around the edge of the book. Inside the book, we start with the information pages; two pages with information for parents. This will help you get the most out of the book. There is useful information about the quicklinks, wwww.usborne-quicklinks.com. ...
...you can hear the words spoken in Italian, print out puzzles, and find other information on Italy. However, as sites go, I find it quite confusing. There is a lot of toing and froing to get the words spoken, and after each word, you have to go to the start and then select another one. Not quick enough for little people who want it and want it now. I also thought they should have said the word in English and then in Italian rather than relying on you ...

Body Reference Book for Pre-Teen Girls

Advantages: Straightforward language, logical explanations, appealing illustrations
Disadvantages: The book is American - if you don't like Americanisations you may not like this

...- it is from the American Girl Library - American Girl being a store which sells incredible dolls and pushes good role models on young girls. I have visited the American Girl stores with my daughter in Chicago and New York and liked the ethos of the company but more than this I trusted my friend's judgement. Not long afterwards I was back in the US on holiday and I picked this book up for my daughter to read, and so, at the age of 8, she received ...
...girls in the book. American Girl do seem to push the message that girls need to take care of their bodies and respect them - which is a good message for young girls to grasp at an early age, but they also consider the fact that when it comes to people there is no "one size fits all" way to be and they explain clearly to young girls that everyone is different and there is no "right" way to look, so long as you are taking care of yourself. The section ...

Get stuck in!

Advantages: Lots of stickers, christmas pictures, will appeal to children
Disadvantages: Use of animals and not humans, colours are bland

...This sticker book is produced Usborne who make such great stuff for children, and that's a good enough recommendation for me. I always used Usborne text books at school, and I think you can't go wrong with things by such a good company. The cover doesn't strike me as being overly Christmassy, with a christmas tree and then a selection of animals on ice skates... I do think they could have gone for a more Christmassy scene but I think they have tried ...
...the book is aimed at, which is 3 years plus because of the stickers included. The book contains 8 pages of stickers which are stapled in the middle of the book that you can either remove or choose to leave in the book. They feature lovely big and bold stickers which are big enough for young fingers to pick up themselves, and are nice clear and bright pictures as well. Instead of just being higgledy-piggledy on the pages, they are organised page by ...

♫ ♫ Your Own Personal Christmas ♫ ♫

Advantages: A unique gift that will be enjoyed for years to come.
Disadvantages: It has to be put away after Christmas.

...order a few things for my son for Christmas. My son has a great love for books as I have been reading to him since he was born, so when I spotted the personalised Christmas books I knew that he would like it and it would be the perfect gift. It is really easy to personalise your own book, the ordering page is very simple and easy to follow with drop down menus for you to fill in the details. A few details are required such as your child’s name, address, ...
...hoped it would be to my liking. It took a couple of weeks to arrive and it was packaged in a bubble wrapped enveloped to keep it protected. The paperback book is a nice size and of a good quality, and the glossy white pages are nice and thick. At first glance I was really pleased with the book and I couldn’t wait to read it to my son to find out what the story was like. The opening page has a nice personal feel to it, it reads; This book was especially ...
