My Mummy's Bag and lots of goodies for me.
Advantages: Sturdy, safe easy to use. Disadvantages: Such alot to do.........................
Having had 4 children of my own, all now grown up I look after our grandson two days a week so I like to keep up to date with toys books etc.
Wondering around the toy shops, book shops and department stores I find very little has changed in 26 years.
My Mummy's Bag though is one of the exceptions.
This "Book" is a little treasure.
It is the shape and size of a handbag, made of sturdy cardboard and with red carry straps. Any yummy mummy would ... ...Our grandson Callum and us have great fun playing with it.
Also in the same design by the author is My Granny's Purse and My Granpa's Briefcase.
We have yet to get these but are on our, to buy list as it is Callum's birthday on 14th Feb. ...

Thw World of Peter Rabbit- the classic children's tale.
Advantages: Different stories, suitable for all ages. Timeless!! Disadvantages: Pricey if you aren't going to look after them!
I had the collection as I child. I passed it down to my cousin and now I have bought the books for my daughter. The best way to describe this collection is as an absolute classic that every child should at least read, if not own. And no, watching the film is not enough!! The first of 23 tales is about a naughty little rabbit who gets caught in Mr. McGregor's garden. It is a tale which shows the consequences of being naughty which is something that ... ...characters include Squirrel Nutkin, Mrs Tiggywinkle and Mr. Jeremy Fisher. All tales are illustrated by Beatrix Potter which adds such a personal feel to the collection. At approximately £90 for the entire set it seems very expensive. Instead I purchased a set of 4 at a time for birthdays or Christmas, each set costing around £20. For me these are not just stories. At the cost of the books I have used them to teach my daughter about respecting her ...

Nothing is better than teaching children logical thinking
Advantages: A transformation way for children to use thought and information Disadvantages: Requires parents to understand the principles of mind maps.
...familiar with the concept of Mind Maps. The logical planning of thought processes usually considering various pathways or outcomes. For children, this is a practical and significant skill to use in planning or decision making.
THE BOOK
The book is designed by the use of children with clear diagrams and visualisation. It starts by teaching the very basics of thought bubbles and how these thought bubbles can be joined to create creative trees and ... ...this reason, I looked at mind maps as a form of visualising information for her and ensuring that information is processed in a logical sequence and can be told in a 'Story'. Amazing, after months of frustrations, within 1 hour, yes 1 hour of sitting down with this book k and trying mind maps, she was able to retain and repeat sequences of information. This has been used for numbers, planning and for presentations. My daughter, (10 years), had to ...

Will we ever read another book...
Advantages: Lovely book, full of information Disadvantages: Tends to come off the shelf a little too frequently...
Overview
If you know kids, you'll know that once they find a book they like... you could be reading it for weeks or months!
They love this at bedtime... its truly colourful for my little 3 year old with some lovely pictures, graphics and a real 'usborne' feel. For my 6 year old... he is fascinated by facts, and the well designed maps, information and knowledge of other places in the world.
It has maps of the whole world, with beautiful childrens ... ...and facts and figures.
My mum and dad travel alot now they are retired, and following Nanny and Grandad on their travels really brings their understanding and the book to life.
The book offers excellent value for money, and is constantly being bought out at bed time.
Summary
This book is lovely to read, and i recommend it for your bedtime/daytime reads! The only issue we now have is that I am starting to get fed up with the same story night after ...

Is that a Dinosaur? No, it`s a Pop-Up.
Advantages: Fantastic, intricate, full of knowledge. Disadvantages: Could be ruined by small hands.
...The book is called Dinosaurs, Encyclopedia Prehistorica by Robert Sabuda and Mattew Reinhart. It is a hard back book, very slightly smaller than A4 size with a dark green cover and very thick. It only has 6 double pages (12) but these pages are so intricate and full of information it is wonderful. The book is full of pop ups and has 35 in all throughout the book. There are at least 5 facts on each page about dinosaurs. The book states on the back ... ...information is interesting and factual.
The Pop-Ups.
* * * * * * * * * * *
I could talk for ever about the pop ups but I will just talk about the first page and then you can go out and buy the book and see for yourself. You open the page and up pops a big reddish brown dinosaur. This is impressive enough but there are also flaps to open, they tuck under a little corner to close again. The first flap reveals another pop up green dinosaur, rocks ...
