about Big Book Of Knowledge
Review of Big Book Of Knowledge by

Advantages: beautiful, colorful illustrations and informative, interesting and well presented.
Disadvantages: none i can think of
As the name suggests, 'The Big Book of Knowledge, is an encyclopedia for children. This four hundred pages' book has beautiful, colorful illustrations to not only catch your attention but to also help you and your children to understand the hundreds of facts better. An interesting feature of this book is the short quizzes which help you to test how much of the information you have retained. In particular, I found the 'People's Section' very interesting ... ...detailed and accurate diagrams. It told me that the human lungs, if opened out and laid flat, would cover an area, the size of a tennis court! The book ends with more key facts and an index with key words arranged alphabetically so as to make it easier for the reader to find what he is looking for. Overall the book is informative, interesting and well presented. ...

Potty for Potter!
Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) - J. K. Rowling by
anakha6
Advantages: Brilliant and gripping story, excellent characters.
Disadvantages: Originally a bit pricy on release but has come down now.
As with all the Harry Potter books, I was impressed that a children's book can pull off such a moving story line and be readable by both adults and children alike.
One cannot help but love Harry Potter's characters, and it is always nice to read about the 'ordinary boy' who becomes something extraordinary and JK Rowling has taken this classic plot device and made it into something unique and special.
The book rounded the series off nicely, bringing ... ...book.
I know that many Harry Potter fans, me included, were saddened by the death of dumbledore in the last book and it was nice to see a man who was willing to forget and forgive beyond reasonable doubt and trust those who didn't deserve it have his faith rewarded and a villain become a hero.
A must read, JK Rowling's work so far has been touched by genius and I look forward to more books from this author. ...

Chamber of secrets
Review of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2): Adult Edition - J.K. Rowling by
Kimbod
Advantages: clever story
Disadvantages: Giant Siders YUCK
Book two in the Harry Potter series starts with a miserable time for Harry at the Dursleys. They do not accept Harry into their family and he is not treated very well at all. Welcome to our world
Review of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Book 1): Adult Edition - J.K. Rowling by
Kimbod
Advantages: great story, well written
Disadvantages: maybe a little predictable
I had not read any Harry Potter films prior to watching the first movie and I feel love with the magical wizarding world. So when my manager told me that she loved the books I went out and bought each one. (It was up to book for at that point).
Although I had seen the first film I began with this book as I often find films miss out some details.
***Plot Outline***
We are first introduced to the Dursleys, who turn out to be Harry's aunt and uncle ... ...have been asked to take Harry Potter into their home and to treat him as one of their own.
They dont!
When Harry is eleven he starts to receive letters which the Dursleys hide from him. Eventually a mystery stranger, named Hagrid is sent to deliver the letter in person to Harry, and Harry is suddenly faced with the fact that he is a wizard.
After an argument between Mr Dursley and Hagrid, Harry goes to begin a new life in a new world.
In his ...
