Advantages great

This is may favorite Michael Morpurgo book so far. Told in the voice of a young red horse it touches your heart with many ups and downs.
Set in 1914, Joey is first bought by Albert's father buys him in a drunken fit so that his neighbor can not have him. When he mistreats the horse Albert takes over and trains and loves Joey and they become best friends.But again, drunk and angry Albert's father sells joey to the army and he is thrust into the midst of the war on the Western Front. With his officer, he charges toward the enemy, witnessing the horror of the battles in France.
But even in the desolation of the trenches, Joey''s courage touches the soldiers around him and he is able to find warmth and hope. But his heart aches for Albert, the farmer''s son he left behind.Read the rest of my review http://www.barbrahesson.com
