Chris Benoit
Chris Benoit; The Rabid Wolverine; The Crippler and even Wild Pegasus - whatever he is referred as he will always be a solid favourite of mine, I started to like him back during his WCW Days; sure, watching Nitro every week was tedious, but worth it to see Chris Benoit as part of the Horsemen with Dean Malenko team up against Raven and Perry Saturn from the Flock or whoever they are scheduled against
Clearly not every match can be a good one - but Benoit was constantly showing that he is one of the best in the buisness today, whether it be his multiple grman suplexes or his diving headbut I would be amazed to watch Chris Benoit technically tear his opponents apart!
Then he feuded with Dean Malenko. This was a pretty interesting feud which included a certain cage match I remember in which Chris Benoit leapt from the top of a cage and hit his headbut to Malenko - it looked excellent!
He then went on to face Jeff Jarrett in high profile ladder matches, there were other names for these matches including really weird gimmicks attatched to them - But they were basically ladder matches and were entertaining.
Benoit then brought his technical skills to the WWF with Dean Malenko; Perry Saturn and Eddie Guerrero they started an immediate feud with DX. However in his debut Eddie Guerrero broke his arm which is a set back for the group. They then join DX so to speak - well, more of an alliance of convenience than anything else- and they certainly had the numbers advantage!
Benoit has since dispanded these Radicalz and moved onto better thing, including many reigns as Intercontinental Champion; many great matches with Chris Jericho and matches with The Rock and other top liners - this man has even been announced as WWF Champion twice! although the decisions were reversed in the end...
His finishing move is called the Crippler Crossface and is one of those easy to perform but also get a crowd responce for it type of moves.
Benoit is currently out of action with a neck injury but I cannot wait for him to retrn to my televiosion set soon!
I like Chris Benoit for his technical and athletic abilities and he has really crafted himself into the WWF's elite. I hope that a title reign is in his near future...
