This is one of the best mascaras I have ever used, and I have used a lot. I was one of the girls who had spider leg eye lashes because no matter how big my lashes looked, they were never big enough. You can never overdo your own lashes, fake eyelashes often look awful and rather tarty because they are far too big for the face, but building on something that you've already got? Better than sex, and almost guarenteed to get you more.
I bought this mascara because I was fed up of spending a combined sum of double the price of this one searching for 'The One'. Mascaras in my makeup bag have roughly a 2 week trial period, if they don't make me feel like I could bat my eyes and make a guy fall over within that period they are binned. I am ashamed to say it, but this was bought purely on the name. DiorShow is effectivly the OTT makeup brought out by Dior. It is the all singing all dancing backstage makeup designed to get you noticed from across the building, never mind across the room. And boy does it work.
It comes with a hefty price tag for one item (£20 or there abouts), but think of the times you have bought a mascara only to bin it because it doesn't do what it says on the label? It is more than worth it. It comes in the cutest silver cardboard box, with Dior embossed on the front and minimal writing elsewhere. The box almost makes up for the dissapointing tube inside. A plain navy blue tube with silver wand and silver 'Diorshow' and numerous 'Dior's hides the sexiest mascara on the planet. Somewhere, a designer could have done better but it does look incredibly classy in a 'yes, it's sex in a tube but I don't have to shout about it because I Know it' way.
The wand is a little shocking. To get the effect that it has, the brush is about double the width of all other mascara wands. It looks like a small animals tail on a stick, but in a good way. The mascara itself clashes with the tube (remember, no navy blue with black, but thats probably just a personal bug bear) and is extremly dark black matt. It smells like all high end make up should, of nothing really but a slight sweetness. The secret of this wonder make up is the mascara being made from a wax rather than a liquid base, leaving no gloopy mess if you drop the brush, and incidentally leaving you with gigantic eyelashes : )
Using it takes a bit of getting used to what with the wand size, but because of the wax base you don't get much of the printing effect on your upper eyelid if you open your eyes too far too soon. The feel of it going on is almost worth buying it for alone, it is silky and smooth and you can feel exactly where your lashes are underneath the brush. The actual effect on the lashes is astounding. I curl my lashes a small amount before applying this stuff because you get double the effect if the lashes are contrasted against your upper eyelid, but either way it makes them huge. I'm not sure if it has all that much of a lengthening effect, but it definitley has a thickening effect. Think of the best thickening mascara you ever used, then take away all the annoying little clumps that you got and multiply the effect by about 5. You end up with eyelashes that they use computers to simulate on the mascara adverts, a brilliant 20's starlet doe eyed look with just one application. And it's not heavy! You don't feel like you are forcing your eyes open against the weight of the product you have put of to make them thick.
I figured that the removal of this stuff would be a nightmare because the size the lashes seem tricks you into thinking that you have a ton of product on, but one side of a cotton wool pad with any cleanser removes it in one go with no sneaky bits that you think you've got off but havnt.
The only downsides are realizing once you have taken it off you seem to have shrunk along with your eyelashes and the time it takes to get used to applying it with the oversized brush. Other than that I will not be buying any other mascara for day to day wear. I keep a tube of Max Factor 2000 calories (the most dramatic one) for when I go away somewhere or I might lose it as it is the closest thing I have found to equaling this triumph of make up. All Hail Dior!
Advantages: Dior :), good packaging Disadvantages: Expensive, generally not a great mascara, clumps at the end a bit.
Recently, i've been into sampling a lot of make-up, skincare and in general products. Not only does this mean that i can try out beauty products before i choose wheather to or to not buy them, it means that i get loads of really good beauty products from named brands such as 'Chanel' and 'Dior' for free that would otherwise cost me LOADS!!!
For this sample i went into John Lewis in my nearest city of Norwich. I aproached the Dior counter in the ... ...samples i could try out. The lady gave me a small sample of Dior Show Mascara and a fragrance.
My Experience
As soon as i got home i couldn't wait to try it, i had a party that night and wanted to look my very best. As i tried it on i noticed that it was very liquidy and didn't seperate my lashes very well. Also the volume it provided wasn't great, especially compared to some other mascaras i have tried. The thing that bothered me most was the ...

Advantages: Long thick lashes, Easy to wash off, Actually works! Disadvantages: Expensive, Wierd smell
I brought my tube of DiorShow Mascara in black from the duty-free shop at Stansted Airport for £14. I have seen it for sale in department stores for about £17 and on eBay for as little as £5 but I am a little dubious of buying make-up on eBay as there are quite a lot of fakes floating around. This is fairly expensive but I think that it is well worth it as it is easily the best mascara I have ever used.
I love my eyelashes to look huge but not clumpy. ... ...natural looking lashes. Surely if you wanted your eyelashes to look natural you wouldn't wear mascara! The mascara itself comes in a fat navy-blue tube with silver lettering on it. I think it looks quite cool in a trashy sort of way but some of my friends think it looks tacky! The first thing I noticed when I opened up the tube was the weird smell of the mascara. To me it smells a bit like a cross between cinnamon and baby wipes. It's not a nasty ...

Advantages: Volumises and lengthens lashes amazingly! Looks incredible, every girls dream mascara! Disadvantages: Expensive, but totally worth it. A good investment.
...a miniature version of the Christian Dior Diorshow mascara; it is really wonderful! The brush is 'fat' and long so it covers all lashes at once. This saves time and an aching hand from applying and replying 4 or 5 times in one make up session! We have all experienced the frustration when mascasa just goes WRONG and clumpy and think. This does not and will not happen with Diorshow Mascara. There lots and lots of bristles on the brush which separate ... ...lovely, sweet smelling mascara so lashes appear to be volumized and longer. PERFECT!!
The mascara liquid itself smells absolutely divine--very fruity and girly! Much nicer than the cheap stuff from Boots which dries out in a matter of days and smells like paint! The packaging is very cool and has the 'Dior' pattern on it. It costs only 17.50 pounds. I say only because it is the same cost as two or three cheap mascaras but lasts ages and works wonders! ...

Advantages: Big fluttery lashes Disadvantages: not waterproof, price
Mascara is an essential every girl has in her makeup bag, mascara makes our eyes look big and pretty, diorshow makes the biggest prettiest eyes ever! I used to use aquadior which is waterproof but didn't do much to my lashes when I run out I went back to the dior counter in debenhams to get some more and I noticed diorshow, The dior lady said it would make my eyelashes thick and full and I wouldn't need eyelash curlers, I didn't really believe her ... ...nice lady,It cost £17.00 from debenhams, but I've found it on strawberrynet.com for £13.00 with free shipping! Black Chestnut
Turquoise Azure Blue Possibly more these were the only ones in debenhams at the time.
When I got home I tried it out, after removing my other mascara first of course, I used it with eyelash curlers which I really didn't need to do, the dior lady was ...

Advantages: Gorgeous packaging, lengthens ok and thickens very well Disadvantages: Expensive
I purchased Dior Show mascara about 9 months ago. I love the packaging, it looks truly luxurious and looks great in my make up bag! The brush for the mascara is unusually large and allows you to coat nearly all your lashes at the same time. Although a lot of people find this amazing, I know, I actually found it off putting, possibly because it was different. I actually found it quite difficult to apply the mascara without poking myself in the eyes! ... ...- it leaves your lashes looking freshly applied all day, and lengthens quite well. The thickening of the lashes is it's best selling point I think, and it does it extremely well.
Although I may get shot for saying this, I didn't find this mascara to be anything super-special for the extra £10 or so you spend on it. The packaging is good, and the smell is a lot nicer than other cheaper mascaras but I think the main thing you pay for in this case ...

Advantages: Makes your lashes look really long Disadvantages: The price
I love this mascara! The brush is nice and fat and it makes your lashes look really long and full. It doesn't clump or flake off, its pretty much perfect , although a little bit expensive, but I would say overall its worth it. I actually firsty tried this mascara when I went with a friend to have a free make over session at a department store, the assistant used this on me and I literally couldn't believe my eyes!! My lashes had never looked so long or full. I was lucky that he was able to give me a trial sample to take home, so this may be a good idea if you want to give it a try before you spend nearly £20, but you will never go back to another mascara after this! ...
Advantages: Good Quality Disadvantages: Thick consistency
ChristianDior are renowned for being a premium high quality brand and this mascara is certainley not a let down.
Diorshow comes in typical Dior makeup packaging, navy blue with the silver dior logo printed across half, making your make up bag look good even before you get it on yourself.
The mascara brush is big and rounded, a lot bigger than most mascaras out on the market, it really helps to curl and separate your lashes.
The mascara itself is quite thick so can clog your lashes is you apply too much, but using the right amount gives stunning effects, it really makes you look like you are wearing false lashes. It is not waterproof but it doesnt give you those dreaded pand eyes if you get caught teary eyed.
A great mascars, you wont be disappointed! ...
Advantages: Attractive packaging?! Disadvantages: MANY (read on...)
Well nature was being less than generous with my eyelashes! I decided to try a 'luxury' mascara and was prepared to pay over the odds for a product that might work miracles! I read some promotional blurb about the product (which claimed that this mascara would not clump) and some gushing reviews in which everyone seemed to agree they could not be without it. So I forked out the £20.
Diorshow comes in dramatic navy & silver packaging which basically means that if you want to flash it around in the Ladies, people will probably take note of your 'bling' ChristianDiormascara!
HOWEVER, this is about as far as I can go in recommending the product! I found it very difficult to apply (the wand is too big) and had constant problems with getting it on my eyelids. Despite the manufactuers' claims, it also clumped really easily. Furthermore ...
