I'm one of those people that can't say no to a bargain, so when I was browsing around Boots' New Years sale at the beginning of the year, I was delighted to find a whole array of brand named, low price perfume. I usually wear Next's own, 'Mi Amoreau de toilette' as it has a very pleasant fruity smell and lasts most of the day. I was diverted away from my usual scent to Christian Dior Addict 2eau de toilette.
SMELL ----------------------------- When it's first put on, the perfume has a tangy floral scent. You get a hint of citrus, which comes across sweet, but not overpowering. With this, there's a smell of rose - again, not overpowering. Plus, this is really a secondary smell; you don't get it straight away, which is nice. It really starts to come out after a few minutes. Once this smell has diminished, you're left with a soft smell of dry musk that lasts for pretty much the whole day. As time goes on though, the smell does weaken quite a bit - but that's expected. It's pretty much the same with most perfumes I've used. If it's being worn during a night out, then you'll find the smell lessens if you perspire, but it's still fresh and noticeable on you.
PACKAGING ------------------------------ It is presented in a lovely baby pink coloured box with a glittery, bright number 2 on the front. At the time of purchase the perfume came as a set with a free, circular vanity mirror which came in a small, velvet pocket with "Parfums Dior" printed on the front. (The mirror is set in a silver frame which on the reverse side has a large star with the word "Dior" engraved onto one of the sides. It fits nicely inside my handbag and so can be taken anywhere.) The perfume is contained within a clear, pink bottle. You spray it onto yourself by turning the top of the bottle to the right and pushing it down. I'm including this because it's actually quite confusing - took me a few moments to realise how to open the thing! Lastly, the top of the bottle is covered by a small pink cap with Dior Addict written down the side. At the top is a small, silver bulb - what you press to dispense the perfume.
EXTRA INFO ----------------------------- As previously mentioned, I bought my 20ml bottle from Boots during their New Year sale. It was priced at £20. The average price for a 20ml bottle, without mirror or any other extras, is £26. A 50ml bottle will set you back £40. Saying that, there are usually offers on Dior perfumes - there's quite a lot of opportunities to buy it for cheaper. It can be bought from pretty much any high street retailer. So, overall - a nice smell that isn't too expensive (although I'm a student, so I'm lucky I don't have to buy it regularly!) - it's a scent that will last for most of the day, and a good one to try out!
(Plus, my boyfriend loves it!)
