refreshing, spicy, lavender, amber fragrance. This masculine scent contains a blend of seaweed, algae, mint and is accented with nutmeg, oakmoss and sandalwood making Polo Sport cologne perfect for casual daytime use.
You know how different smells remind you of things? As I spray the liquid onto my naked skin, the scent rises to my nose buds, swirling in my head; I have visions of fumbled kisses on the dance floor of a teenage disco back in 1988! Belinda Carlisle booming from the speakers, high heeled stilettos, massively oversized hooped earrings and hideous curly perms!
All the boys were wearing Brut and the girls wore Poison. I could never afford the "real" stuff until I started work, but the local chemist sold a more affordable option - imitation bottles at £2.99.
As the years went by my mates seemed to progress to newer and more modern aromas. Maybe I was boring or stuck in my ways or maybe it was "better the devil you know"? I remained faithful to Poison and on occasions still wear the original scent now.
***The Bottle***
The bottle is bulb shaped, dark purple in colour and has a transparent glass lid. Comes in two sizes, 30ml and 50ml. The box is green with Poison and Dior written on the front.
***The Fragrance***
A spicy alluring perfume, full of mystery and intrigue. Too overpowering for me to wear during the day, but ideal for a night out or if I'm planning a little seduction. No need to top up either, it's strong aroma lasts all night and more.
*** Price and availability***
A 30ml bottle will cost around £30 and the 50ml around £40. Not available in major high street chains, although smaller retailers still stock. There are still a number of online shops that stock this perfume.

Of course good old Ebay might save you some money plus duty free will definitely save you a few pounds as well so keep your eyes peeled for offers!
You can easily find this in big stores like House of Fraser, Debenhams and even Boots (don't forget those Advantage Points!) but my suggestion would be to buy this product only if you are seriously convinced you will definitely use this. If you are a bit unsure there is no point in spending lots of money on it and have it sitting on your dressing table (although it might look good on it).
I finished my perfume last week and it lasted me more than a year and quite like it to be honest but I will not buy this again as I find that Dior Addict actually suits me (and my personality) best.
In general I think this is a good perfume ...

This is the second one of my three planned perfume reviews for this weekend. As mentioned in my Review of Dolce Vita, I did some perfume testing at a Dior counter on Friday. I've been exploring Dior very gradually. Most of their fragrances are very distinctive, some are even hard to like. It's good that they don't release insipid crowd pleasers every few months, but I've just been able to handle a bit at a time. The outcome is that Hypnotic Poison is my second favourite of the three and an absolute must have. As the picture shows, it's the red one among the Poison bottles. The box is a matching but darker mottled red.
I might be a bit slow in catching up on fragrances. It often seems when I try a fragrance that I've actually known it for a while. It was the same in this case, and initially I was slightly disappointed for that reason ...
