Inspiring
Review of Still Me - Christopher Reeve by  anguk

Advantages: humbling
Disadvantages: can't put it down

...I love biographies especially ones about people who's lives haven't been perfect. Christopher Reeves biography is a must read, his story is amazing from his carrer as Superman to the terrible accident and his day by day fight to survive. It gives a detailed account of the battles he has had to face to overcome his disabilities, the anguish and pain his family have had to suffer and his fight to lead as normal a life as possible. Christopher Reeve has now become a champion fighting for the rights of the disabled and this book gives a fascinating insight to the mans life and works. Truly inspiring!... Read review

CURIOUSITY KILLED THE DOG
Review of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time - Mark Haddon by  stuleg

Advantages: A Book Well Worthy of Reading
Disadvantages: Too Darn Short

...“This will not be a funny book. I cannot tell jokes because I do not understand them” Just who would kill Mrs Shear’s poodle with a garden fork? This is the question Christopher Boone asks himself as he cradles the still warm body of Wellington the poodle in his arms. Unfortunately before Christopher can ponder this question fully Mrs Shears happens upon him holding the dog and has him arrested as the prime suspect. After a night in the cells and a warning for punching a policeman, Christopher is cleared in any wrong doing relating to Wellingtons death. He decides however to make it his job to find the culprit of this canine slaying, against his fathers and several neighbours advice. The search will not be an easy task with Christopher scared of people and new places, but when Christopher decides he will do something there seems little... Read review

THE REINCARNATION OF SHERLOCK HOLMES
Review of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time - Mark Haddon by  silver_hotpants

Advantages: A superbly written and interesting read.
Disadvantages: None

...After initially ignoring all of the hype about this book, I decided, after a male friend of mine (who, let it be noted is NOT the kind of man who reads books, not, I hasten to add that there is anything wrong with a man reading books.. its just he isn’t the kind that does), couldn’t stop singing the praises of this book to everyone and everything that would listen to him. So like I said I decided to purchase this for my holiday reading, I mean what better recommendation could I possibly have? The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a mystery novel narrated all the way through by a fifteen year old boy called Christopher Boon. Christopher has a condition known as Asperger’s syndrome (which until I read this book had never heard of, and is similar to autism). This means that Christopher is special in ways that his family...
