Hi there , my name is Marius, I'm 23 years old and drive (still) a Chrysler neon LX 2002.
there isn't very much to add on the previous comments that was made, but I can highlight some of the points that was made.
if the first question to your mind is : "what does a 23 year old do with a Chrysler neon"
well truth be told this is my second Chrysler, and if it wasn't for the first one I would not have bought the second one...
my first Chrysler was totalled by an unfortunate accident that changed my life for the GOOD, however I could never understand why the car never rolled, now that I know about the anti roll bars, it makes sense,
so you've got roll bars, and extra reinforced impact bars in the doors of the car, trust me getting into a Chrysler neon safety is one of the most overwhelming feelings you get, my first Chrysler was hit on the side whilst I was standing still, at a 110Km/h (impact speed) and me and my girlfriend got out of the car with a few bumps and minor cuts from the class chatter.... also the front seats tilts away from the impact side providing extra protection.
Chrysler also magnificently designed the gearbox, for a low speed "cruse" for those times that you are sitting on the freeway and traffic is moving at 10-30 mph, fuel consumption is not bad considering it is a 2.0 ,130bhp engine, pushing the fuel gage to around 600km per tank of fuel, considering the car only has a 45litre tank that really isn't bad,
handling on the road is good, travelling at n 120 km/h the rpm counter rests firmly on 3000 rpm, which shows the engine is not slaving away the miles but you get the feeling of the motor idling along the way.
comfort is one of Chrysler's features as well with a very comfortable ride, enough space ,considering I am 6 foot 7", steering is a breeze and braking is very good,
all the more I am impressed with the car, in south Africa the service's and so on are a bit on the expensive side, however, thinking of the luxuries, like electric windows, and side mirrors, abs, traction control, aircon, and a smooth ride with good fuel consumption, I'll dig a bit deeper into the pocket to pay for my 3000 pound luxury car.
best regards
marius.
