About 18 months ago when I was in New England I rented a ChryslerPTcruiser for two weeks & clocked up more than 1000 miles, it gave me a good opportunity to assess the vehicle for this review.
As you will see with the pictures of the actual vehicle it is a modern interpretation of a 1930s American hot rod & Chrysler have done rather a good job. The low front & high rear ends with slab sides mimics the old hot rods as does the pointed bonnet line & front wing styles. The retro look is carried over to the interior with body coloured painted metal dashboard along with little details as the fake ivory gear knob & old style chrome door handles.
The car was originally to be badged as a Plymouth PTCruiser but when the parent company (Chrysler) decided to terminate the Plymouth brand the name was changed to simply Chrysler. The 'PT ...
Advantages: good looking car Disadvantages: can be expensive on insurance
this is my first car since passing my driving test and i think i made a good choice of first car.we didnt want to get to small a car as my partner is used to big ones.i was very warry at first about haveing a big engine after a 1.2 but i get on very well with it.very enjoyable to drive handles the road very well.if yoy have kids that like pressing buttuns they cant do the windows if they are in a car seat as the buttons arent in the door panels and you can also lock them from the front if they can reach them.most other ptcruiser drivers will pass you and wave or flash there lights.you can fit alot in the boot aswell.did have alot of problems getting insurance for it ...
Advantages: great interior; trunk space; looks Disadvantages: invoice is up due to high demand
that it?s body is quite round. The older cars had sharper edges, yet one could say that the PT is a retro car under the influence of decent aerodynamics. Its wheel covers are wide and thick, and it also sports a large grill (taken from the Prowler). The front looks sort of like a truck, but the back comes down as in a wagon. Overall, the car looks like something we are not used to seeing, and yet strangely familiar.
The PT shares some parts with the Neon, but its built on a completely different platform. It's engine (I think the same as the one on Chrysler Cirrus) is a 4cyl 2.4liter that can punch 150HP. Not quite fast, but this is hardly a racer. It?s merely a cruiser, as the name blatantly outputs. The fact that its also considered a 'truck' makes it one of the most fuel efficient trucks around; we are talking about 20 city and 26 ...
