The grand daddy of MPV's
Advantages: Nice Design, Stow n Go seats, spacious, passenger legroom and good storage space Disadvantages: slow off the mark, uncomfortable rear seats, expensive
...sliding doors, along with the Chrysler stow 'n' go feature, which are, to say a brilliant help.
We managed to fit 2 dogs, 4 adults and 2 children, along with 5 suitcases and other such item in this car on a recent journey to Cornwall, and although some people found it uncomfortable, we dint struggle to fit the luggage and dogs in, just the people, and we made it and with many thanks to the DVD player, no child got hurt.
The journeys are comfortable ...

the ritz of people carriers
Advantages: large space Disadvantages: not available as an automatic
comparing this car to other people carriers is like comparing the ritz to a bed and breakfast.
It has plenty of room for seven adults with a huge amount of headroom for them. Lots of places to put bits and pieces with all the usual cup holders and nooks and crannies.
large boot space and if you have children, like we have, then you can push the back seat forward to get even more. We have got a full drum kit and six people in the car!!!
The seats ... ...me get lift them in and out.
Driving is a real pleasure and a very comfortable ride is had by all. The fuel consumption averages 28 - 32 mpg, which is not too bad. We have driven all over the country from cornwall to ayrshire and not a single problem.
Overall I would recommend this car over all others and I have had a few, including the peugeot and the sharan but this beats them hands down. ...

Chrysler Grand Voyager CRD
Advantages: Spacious, comfortable, good driving position, well equipped Disadvantages: Battery too small, wide for small car parks, hard to remove 3rd row of seats
Had a Grand Voyager CRD for 5 years and found it spacious, comfortable and very reliable with one exception - the battery. The one fitted was only 45 amp/hour which is insufficient for a car which has so many electrics. A combination of short journeys and electric door/tailgate usage caused me to need a jump-start several times after year2 . Otherise the fuel economy was good at 38mpg on a long run and 34 about town (semi-rural). The heavy bench ... ...to remove and refit. The new fold-away design, although not as solid to sit on, gives much greater flexibility. Overall nice to drive except for the cable operated gears which made it difficult to engage 1st gear and to change down to 2nd. The hand brake, despite being recalled and replaced was very poor. It would benefit from one of the modern electronic handbrakes. ...

how many cup-holders do you actually need
Advantages: comfortable ride and spacious Disadvantages: fairly expensive to run
We bought a Chrysler Grand Voyager 3.3 SE back in February 1997 when our family jumped from four to six in one fell swoop! The arrival of our twins put paid to the usual five seater family vehicle and introduced to us the wonders of MPV's!
As we were earning monthly salaries per week at this time we decided we'd go for the top of the range and travel in style.
After a very short time looking at other makes we went to the local Chrysler showroom ... ...my view of the Chrysler Grand Voyager 3.3SE and bearing in mind it was 1999 when we last drove it, things may have changed a bit since then but I can't imagine them being able to improve it other than dropping the price and having the diesel in all sizes. ...

Far Flung Voyager
Advantages: Lots of room Disadvantages: Very thirsty, performance not good enough
...none of these but the Chrysler Voyager which as well as being made in the USA is also bolted together in that hotbed of automotive production, Austria. I have been driving an estate for a few years and the time has now come to replace it. My budget is under £20k and I have turned my thoughts towards an MPV. As the new Voyager comes in at the right side of that budget I thought would give it a go.
The car I tried was a 2.4 litre petrol engine 7 seater. ... ...ponderous too. I am sure Chrysler would not wish me to say it but…isnt it a bit like a van? With fuel consumption dropping to the very low 20s in mpg terms the attraction of the car starts to wane.
Of course the reason I was looking at an MPV was space. My son is at Uni or at least will be when he goes back in a couple of weeks. Talk about long holidays I think that leaves only our MPs still to consider that summer is not over. Anyway with ...
