I am heartened to read that others are/have suffered from Churchill. In February 2007 this firm removed money from my bank account which was an unauthorised fraudulent transaction I insured with them from March 2006 to March 2007 However in February 2007 they made up a direct debit mandate and submitted it to my bank without first informing me that they were in the process of doing this, under the disguise of renewing my car insurance. They failed to inform me that they were going to do this. They have written to me since and said that they did inform me of this twice, before the money was removed from my account. I never received any notification despite their protestations to the contrary. Their customer service is reprehensible, they sent me threatening letters when I cancelled the car insurance and took the business elsewhere, they said that they wanted the insurance certificate back. I made 11 telephone calls and finally got through to somebody who understood my situation. In all the converstaions I had I asked how I could possibly send the insurance certificate back when I never had it in the first place! It was finally resolved by this one person, who informed me "that the tactics that go on inside Churchill would make your mind spin". I was told that the most likely reason for me not getting my notifications from them would be because the machine jams and some notiifications do not get sent out!. On top of this when I put this to the complaint handers they basically called me a liar and said that this conversation would have never have happened with the said employee and that he would never have said anything like that. To top it all, I had to go to my bank and they recovered the costs of the fraudulent transaction administered by Churchill and put me bank into funds.
This company is shambolic. If anybody reading this has any sense do not touch this firm, they believe that they do no wrong!! In 21 years of insuring vehciles I have never ever once had to complain about substandard, shoddy service of the likes of this outfit.
I am pleased to say that that i have managed to steer 13 people away from Churchill so far and 2 have cancelled their insurance with them in the first 21 days.
In future I will be making sure that none of my insurance is underwritten by them, if any of the previous peoples concerns about this firm is anything to go by I am also glad that we never had an accident in the insured car either. When we took out the insurance with Churchill all our friends and colleagues all said that we would would suffer at their hands and my goodness it is so true.
I am pleased to say that I understand Churchill are in the process of losing a nice big client of theirs, which has given me no end of satisfaction.

If you get passed on to somebody called Lisa Taylor point blank refuse to deal with her. Incompentence is not the word she sends letters out forgets to put enclosures with them and also crucially forgets to sign letters as well!

Yes I agree name and shame those who are inept at doing their jobs. What is the problem with naming people who are incompetent at their jobs, the customer pays their wages!. Not surprisingly I have had alot of problems not that disimilar to yours so I can sypathise totally.
