That's right I have participated in 5 surveys since joining ciao a couple of months ago. You might think that it is not a lot. But believe me there are people who have been members of ciao for a much longer time and received less. Why do I get so many, well I will come that later!

Right, you have joined ciao. What's the next step if you want to participate in surveys? Well go to your profile page and click on "Your member profile" button on the left hand side. You will be presented with a page that enables you to change your profile. Scroll down to the bottom and and you will see the following question "Yes, I would like to earn extra money by participating in surveys". Tick the box and then click on the "next" button. Now you should be on a page displaying your interests. Make a mental note of this for the moment, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "send". You are now signed up to receive ciao surveys!

The first survey I participated in involved answering a few questions on printers. I was notified of this by email, which contained a link for me to follow. Following the link I was asked a few questions to see if I fitted in to their target group (All the surveys do this!) Luckily I did, so I was asked a answer a few more simple questions (believe me, you do not need to be a rocket scientist to participate in these things!) which took no more than five minutes and for which I was paid sixty pence (usually these questions are on a multiple choice basis!). The money was credited to my account approximately two weeks later.

Since then I have received survey invitations for Playstations, Holidays, etc and the latest one was the best of all, to play on the stock market! Up until the most recent survey, the payment for participating was between sixty pence and £3. They were all completed in a matter of minutes and the money credited to my account within a few weeks. The latest one is a bit more intriguing!

The test group required for this needed to have some knowledge of share dealing, in particular on line. I have been accepted and just recently received an email from the company concerned, outlining what they require from me and how to start the ball rolling. Basically, I am to test out their online share dealing site as if I was a real customer. They are giving me my own account with £1000, from which I am to trade online. I am to test the site out thoroughly and give them feedback on what I think. Unlike the other surveys I have completed, this will be an ongoing process lasting a few months. Now the good bit, at the end of the trial, my account will be assessed and anything that I make over the initial £1000 will be placed into a real account of my choosing! So potentially I could make a packet, of course there is always the possibility that I will make nothing. This, however is something I am willing to take a chance on!

Right, I get surveys, you don't, despite requesting them. So what can you do. Well, remember the interests page? This is one of the tools used to select potential survey participants. Surveys will not be sent out to you if you are not interested in the subject matter. So take another look at it and make sure that you have indicated ALL of your interests, particularly those that you are "very interested" in. Fortunately my interests and far and wide so most I can quite happily include in my intersts. Also make sure that you fill in all your personal details, below the list of interests, as this is also used to determine your suitability. If you left it blank, fill this in now.

I have enjoyed most of the surveys I have taken part in and the money is certainly good for the effort required. They are not of any particular use to me, other than financial of course, but I am sure they are helpful for the people sending them out! My advice to you would be to sign up for them now if you haven't already. Supposedly, with all the payment changes, surveys are to become more frequent, I guess time will tell. You never know, you might up being a stock market trader and get to play with other peoples money, I know I am looking forward to it!

Oh forgot to mention that if you are reading this and you're not a member, this is not available to you! So if you are interested you had better join ciao!

I, like you, seem to be one of the lucky ones. i did an op on this too, and you'd be surprised by the amount of folk not up-dating their details. Good op tho. And may the surveys keep on rolling in (lol)........ All in all, good op! Yvonne x.x.x.
