Urine coloured Tango + Vodke=Superior
Advantages: No one will steal your drink Disadvantages: ...No one will steal your drink
...the more premium Ciders like Bulmers and Magners, they have become fashionable drinks for some reason. With Kopparberg also on the up as a sweet lager, that again is slightly higher in price than perhaps people would be happy to part with for a single drink. So Strongbow, as a slightly cheaper drink, and ones that's been around for years, as a result becoming one of the drinks my parents and grandparents have been drinking for as long as I can remember. ... ...little logo with a crossbow man on it as the drinks mascot, it's a can that to the best of my knowledge hasn't changed in years. The drink, as all drinks I get in cans has to be poured into a glass for personal pleasure as drinking from cans is pretty much criminal, tainting the flavour (always making it taste metallic) and feeling too cold to drink inside the mouth anyway. The drink is a smooth amber colour, which did form a head that was soon to ...

The perfect summer drink
Advantages: Great taste Disadvantages: None
...of years now has been Magners Irish cider. Magners Irish Cider is actually called Bulmers Original Vintage Cider in the Republic of Ireland where it is produced but to not cause confusion it is called Magners Original Irish Cider outside of the Republic of Ireland. All clear and understood, perfect?! When you buy Magners in a pub you generally get it in large glass bottles which measure about a pint and a half. Some pubs, but I think this is really ... ...get Magners in small bottles and cans too. The bottles are a dark brown colour and have a distinctive yellow and green label on the front. My first introduction to the cider was actually in Ireland where I had one too many Bulmers and regretted it the next day but developed a taste for the cider and have liked it ever since. In my opinion cider is much better when it's cold and crisp and I love the fact that Magners is accompanied with a large glass ...

Delicious but full of sugar!
Advantages: pleasant taste, light, easy to drink Disadvantages: very fattening, quite expensive, high sugar content can cause headaches
Kopparberg fruit ciders come in a range of flavours including lime and elderflower, summer fruits, and of course apple, but in my opinion the pear cider is my far the nicest. Its imported from Sweden, and as a result can be fairly expensive, costing around £3 in pubs and restaraunts and setting you back around £2.50 even in low-cost drinking barns such as Wetherspoons. Most large supermarkets now stock it too, where it costs around £1.90 per 550ml ... ...550ml cans, although in my experience the canned version, whilst nice, don't have quite the same crisp and fresh taste as the bottled variety does. Its a drink that is very light, making it an ideal summer drink, but its also incredibly sugary, and any more than two bottles in a short space of time are likely to give you a pounding headache as a result. It has a very pleasant and sweet taste, and doesn't feel at all alcoholic, although it is quite ...

Like drinking bad rocket-fuel
Advantages: Alcohol content I guess Disadvantages: How much space do I have to name them.....
Wow, I can't believe there are people who actually believe this is a anywhere near a good cider?! This is as we Americans say, " a rocket-fuel drink". Let's use Strongbow as a benchmark (arguably a good cider drink that's very widely available in many countries). Compared to Strongbow this rates pretty much as a 2 on a 1-10 scale. Even independant of comparing it to another drink, the initial thought that comes to mind upon first smelling this beverage ...

Jack in the rest. Stick with scrumpy.
Advantages: crisp and clean. Cheap Disadvantages: too easy to drink!
OI LOIKS COIDERR!!! The above sentence, is my best literary attempt at writing the sentence "I LIKE CIDER." in a English country accent. It is not intended to insult anyone, or to extract the michael out of anyone who resides in any of the major cider making areas of England. It simply expresses, in words, the type of mental image I get when I drink a good cider. You see, these cider-supping countryfolk, or wurzels, as I believe they are known, have ... ...lager without ever fully quenching our thirst, and there they are still able to wear a sack cloth, and suck on a bit of corn in blistering heat. I, however am still sweating in my back garden, wearing nothing buy my best tighty-whities! So, with this knowledge in my head, I started drinking different ciders recently, especially now that the temperatures have been slowly rising. The results speak for themselves. No longer do I have to humiliate myself ...
