Advantages: Powerful, Easy to configure, Good support, Low cost Disadvantages: Needs extra 'modem' for each broadband Connection, Occasional reboots required
the 2950 as a router with the added bonus of having VPN capabilities but with a CISCO, although considerably more expensive, usually has hardware that is made for the job in particular so I would expect a CISCO to perform better than the Draytek (but I do not know from experience).
A CISCOrouter would probably require fewer reboots (maybe once a year or even less) so they are more reliable but they would require a CISCO qualified engineer to configure (at cost). Despite this, if the budget allows, I?d also consider CISCO products for the added security and reliability. However for a small to medium business where budget is limited, the Draytek Vigor 2950 can do the job, is easy to configure, is low cost and has good manufacturer support so I?m happy to recommend it.

Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Easy to configure, Lots of features, USB for sharing drives Disadvantages: Bit expensive, Not full speed with every machine
if you get good wireless speeds as the router isn't a gigabitrouter (1000Mbit) and only has standard 100Mbit Ethernet ports.
Feeling the router itself, it doesn't feel that warm compared to other routers (i.e. the Linksys I had before). The router itself has proved to be very reliable and I've restarted it several times but most likely, Internet issues were due to my ISP and rebooting the router is just a standard way of troubleshooting problems with the Internet connection.
Now, I've mentioned that my previous router's wireless packed up after a power cut. Same thing has happened with this one! It's become unusable unfortunately, after the power cut as it seems to just freeze shortly after powering up. Luckily, it has a lifetime warranty. This only happened once as it survived further power cuts.

Advantages: Fast, Secure and Efficient Internet Connection Disadvantages: High level of Technical Expertise needed to setup more advanced features
The Cisco 800 Series Routers provide a solution for high speed, secure and above all reliable Internet connection. The 857 model is specifically designed for connecting small office / home office (Soho) networks to the Internet via ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line) or "Broadband" technologies. For those of you who know little of Broadband (ADSL), it is a new technology that allows more data to be sent over existing copper telephone lines at higher download rates.
Typically home users connect to the Internet via a Modem, often supplied by there internet service provider. However, this solution of internet connectivity is far from ideal in a mission critical environment. If you don't know what a router is, it is unlikely you need one. However, if you wish to connect to the internet in a fast and secure manner a router is the only ...
