Advantages: Easy to install, Works well, reliable Disadvantages: Expensive
If you enjoy playing online on your xbox 360 and your router is not easily accessible with wires then you should seriously consder getting yourself a wireless adapter.
The Adapter cost around £50-£60 which I think is ridiculously over priced for what is simply a wireless adapter which generally cost aroud £10, but seeing as it is the only option for wireless gaming on the Xbox 360 then if you really want wireless it is your only option.
The adapter was very easy to set up. You simply click it into place at the back of the Xbox 360 and plug the usb plug into the port, and adjust the aerial to face upwards for maximum range. Once you have the adapter in place and plugged in, when you turn on your xbox you will be greeted with a message asking you if you want to configure your wireless device to a network. Clicking 'yes' will bring ...
Advantages: No wires, easy to use Disadvantages: Pricey
I bought this product from Argos, around a month ago.
Its brilliant really, its very simple to use, its purely a usb connection.
You Plug the usb cable leading from the adapter into the usb port, and it has two pin type things, that click into holes that are already there, to hold your wireless adapter, in place, on the xbox console itself.
As soon as i searched with it, it came up with many networks near me, and showed the signal strength, then connected to the one i wanted within seconds.
My xbox is in my bedroom, in my attic, under a beam, where you would imagine the signal would be low, but no, it was far from it, and worked great.
Its a brilliant product, which saves all the wires, the only downfall is the price, its really expensive. ...
Advantages: Works quite well most the time Disadvantages: very expensive
i got one of these because i didn't want wires everywhere in our house. when i first put it in it wouldn'tt connect up to my wireless router(linksys). i called up a help line and they said that they had no idea how to fix it so i ended up having to buy a new one (netgear). with this it works well most of them time but if it doesn't always work. i think that may be down to the router but it may be the adapter. anyway it works most the time pretty well. i think it is ridiculously over priced thought. When i got it it was £60. but i needed it because i didn't want a load of wires around the house. i thnk they are fairly good and work most of the time but are over priced. ...
The enhanced asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) port adapters (ATM PA-A3) are single-port, single and dual-wide ATM port adapters for the Cisco 7200 and 7500 series routers and the FlexWAN module for the Catalyst 6000 family of switches. The ATM PA-A3 is designed with a high-performance, dual segmentation and reassembly (SAR) architecture with local buffer memory. The ATM PA-A3 supports the latest ATM hardware features such as per-virtual circuit (VC) traffic shaping and virtual path (VP) traffic shaping, as well as support for such ATM service classes as non-real-time Variable Bit Rate (nrt-VBR) and Universal Bit Rate (UBR), and support of 4096 ATM VCs.
