...In the depths of London I had a problem, that being I have one DSL line and three computers all stand alone so the options open to me were either CAT 5 my home or try this new fangled magical technology called Wireless… And so it began.
I went on line and found this delightful looking product the WAP54G and being from Linksys meant it was also from Cisco and you can not get a Cisco wireless Access point for under £50 so I went for it.

Upon receiving your router in its posh Cisco systems box you will receive;
1 x 857 ADSL Router unit
1 x Cat 5 Ethernet Cable (for connecting your PC to the router)
1 x Console cable
1 x Manual
1 x Cisco Device manager CD (this is the software you may use to setup your router)
The unit itself is aesthetically pleasing. If this light is on, you know your connection to the internet is up and you are ready to start communicating with the outside world!
On the back of the unit you have an inbuilt 4 port Switch which is a really nice feature...

...Reliable and easy to use cable - a must for anyone making a home network or even a business network. Although Belkin have released a few inferior products in the past, this cable brings thenm right back up again.
Category 5cable such as this is the highest-quality UTP Cable. It is tested at 100MHz, allowing it to run high-speed protocols such as 100Mbps Ethernet and CDDI. Category 5Cable also uses either 22 or 24 AWG unshielded twisted-pair wire and impedance of 100ohms.
It connects with RJ45 connectors (avaiable cheaply)
RJ-45 connectors look a bit like a standard phone connector but are twice as wide (with eight wires). RJ-45s are used for hooking up computers to local area Networks (LANs) or for phones with lots of lines....
