I have been really impressed with Citibank's online service since I opened a current account a few months ago. I have used a number of other banks' online service (NatWest, Cahoot, Egg) and find Citibank the easiest to use by far

Its disadvantages are the entry criteria - in theory, you actually have to either have your salary paid into your account monthly, or deposit some ridiculous sum (£75,000 or something!).
As such, I'd recommend Citibank's service for those who want a sophisticated, reliable online banking product.
Advantages: Free Telephone banking, Internet, £500 Overdraft Disadvantages: No branches
I have banked with Citi Bank for the past 15 months and thought I would share my experience so far. I joined Citibank back in January 2007 after falling out with Halifax Bank of Scotland. I wanted a bank that allowed me access to my money when I wanted it, had decent onlinebanking facilities, and had 24hr telephone banking. I looked around the market and started researching many accounts in the end I decided on Citibank.
Accounts
I was only interest in full current accounts; I wanted free banking with the option to have a cheque book and an overdraft if required. Citibank offer more than one account and I would suggest that you read more in to them before you apply as certain accounts carry a monthly charge. In addition to current accounts they also offer saving accounts.
Applying
Few options here phone and person ...

Citibank made my life a lot easier with its onlinebanking
Problem with Other Nationalized banks in India
I have experienced lot of problems in India by the manner in which the nationalized banks work. They do not provide proper onlinebanking which is the modern and simple way of banking. Also, even if you go personally to the banks, the bank officials make your day worse by making you wait, ask you to come the next day, and most importantly, you cannot afford to take leave from your office just for the sake little bank work.
Citibank on the other hand
But Citibank in India made my life very easy. I do not have to go to the bank unless really required in cases like to apply for a new debit card since you have lost one.
Even the opening of an account is so simple and secure because, one of my friend at work wanted ...

Advantages: No foreign exchange charges on FlexAccount debit card use Disadvantages: e-savings account complicated to operate
(non-Nationwide) accounts is not trivial, and is of the 'fill in a form, print it out & post it to us' variety. I was surprised that there was a fee for making CHAPS payments to other UK bank accounts. The only free transfers seem to be between your own Nationwide instant accounts - disappointing.
One nice feature I haven't seen before on an internet banking site (I also use the Citibank and Barclays onlinebanking sites) is that you can order Section 352 Certificates of Tax deduction online, right back to the early nineties.
Overall I'm not that impressed by the online facilities offered by the e-Savings/FlexAccount combination. The fees for simple online transfers mean I probably will not be using the FlexAccount as my main current account - I'll stick to Citibank/Barclays.
I opened the e-Savings because I have been a member ...
