I would strongly recommend against opening a citibank account, and if you have one, then my recommendation would be to close it.
Recently a cheque for £5,000 went missing after it was payed in at a Lloyds branch (this is how you pay money into citibank accounts). I called citibank, but they were uninterested and advised that all they could suggest was that I chased Lloyds. Not them then? No sir.
They also offered to send me a new telephone pin number since I had misplaced my original. Very kind, except they didn't send it. Instead they cancelled my e-pin, thereby shutting off my web access, and effectively my whole bank account. I e mailed them (I had to as they wouldn't speak to me on the phone as i had no telephone pin!). Once I tried, no reply. Again I tried, no reply. Six days had gone by. Bills needed paying.
I called again. I told them that I had chased Lloyds and located the whereabouts of my cheque for them. I told them I couldn't access my bank account because somebody had cancelled my e-pin instead of sending me a telephone pin. I told them that nobody had responded to either of my e mails sent four and two days previously(despite a promise to contact me within 48hrs both times). I told them I wasn't that happy.
They said sorry. we will get right on to it. We will start retraining our people now. We will find out what has gone wrong. We will courier you the telephone pin and we will even wave the charge. That was four days ago. Four days on have I got the pin number yet? No, and after 25mins of being told at thirty second intervals that 'we know you are waiting' when I called tonight, I have given up. The account has got to go.
I do not know what has changed. I know that they have new call centresin India, but surely this can not be the whole problem......can it? They were so good before....so very very good. It is a real shame.

I think they just have the one branch in Oxford Street, London right?
