I found myself in a rather disaterous financial situation just a few weeks ago and got put into contact with Citi Financial who, after a phonecall said that the would be able to help me with a loan for more than what I had orginally asked for. We went through the application over the phone and then they asked me to come into the branch for my signature. Needless to say, I had to take half a days holiday from work to make the trip to the branch. All went well, signed the docs and got told the cheques would be in the post the following day. On my way home from the branch I got a call from the guy I had been dealing with, but didnt have any battery left on my phone, so called him back the following day and left a message for him to say I had returned his call. A week went by, and no cheques arrived, so I decided to give them a quick call. Chatted to the guy who said that he had put my address in incorrectly initially and now they were happy to offer me £2k less than what they had offered originally. 'Fine' I said as I had lots of creditors knocking at my door at this point. He said to go to the branch where I would sign more papers. Not wanting to take another afternoon off work, I left early citing that I was going to the doctors and headed back over to the branch (an hour and half away on the train). Went to the branch, signed more papers and was told the money would be in my account the following day. Called them up the following day when the money wasnt there at the designated time, and the guy said that the loan had to go to head office for approval and I will get told later that day whether i could have the money, despite being told the loan had been authorised and the money was supposed to be in my account. No call from them meant that I had to call them to find out that the loan has now been refused.
I feel unbelievably let down by this completly unproffesional company and regret ever dealing with them in the first place.
