Love the space |

We bought one of these this week after a friend had bought theirs a couple of months ago. They highly recommended their 1.9D so we initially went to have a look at the 2.0HDI because the fuel consumption seemed very attractive. Unfortunately, the extra £2K didn't seem to justify what was basically the same car as the 1.4i.
We are expecting our second child so needed something reliable and with enough room to accomodate the family and the pushchairs.
We have only had the car for a week and have not noticed anything really bad about it apart from maybe the fuel consumption being a little high and the visibility through the back window si a little obsured by the middle headrest.
The space is brilliant and there is a good all round feeling of safety. Your driving position is a little higher so you have a good view of the road ahead. Obviously the car does have that VAN feel and from the outside looks a little like the POPE-MOBILE but if you want a car with loads of space, which has been designed around you, then the berlingo is a good choice. Go for the 2003 model with the comfort pack as the arm rests make all the difference. The 2003 models also have central locking as standard.
The 1.4i isn't the nippiest car in the world and is actually a bit slow from a standing start but we never purchased this car for speed and it would be a bit stupid to go flying about with the whole family onboard anyway so it's good that the temptation isn't there.

Good start! People reading car reviews are often in the process of making a purchase decision and like plenty of information. Don't be afraid to say a lot more and you'll also get better ratings.

Hello and welcome to Ciao! Sorry about the low rating, what you have written is good, but you will need to put in more detail to get higher ratings. Not a list of features, which readers could find elsewhere, but detail of fuel consumption in terms of mpg, how much you can fit in the 'boot' space, comfort features such as leg room and heater efficiency/adjustment would be helpful, I think. Also, did you manage to negotiate the price?! We have a Berlingo 2.0HDi and love it, but we've had a couple of problems with it and are not impressed with the after-sales service we've received from the dealer. Anyway, let me know if you edit - leave a message in my guest book and I’ll gladly take another look with a view to re-rating. All the best - Cate

I think the trouble for me is that they always remind me of British Gas vans!
