I traded my lovely old car in for a 1 year old C3 Pluriel, a 54 plate which had only had one other owner. I was so excited as it was the car i had always dreamed of! It was the 1.6 Sensodrive version with all additional extras - luxury!
The first 4 weeks were fine and then i noticed that the car was less responsive when pulling away at junctions. A week later it got stuck in 1st gear and then broke down. Being an 'intelligent' car, the AA were unable to restart it. I was towed away on the back of their lorry.
After a repair and new part was fitted, it was fantastic again! Until it started slipping again at junctions. I had my foot on the accelerator but the car wouldn't go anyway and then the next car at the roundabout or junction would pull out and, vroom, my power would kick in and i'd fly towards them! Not very safe!
Then the boot alarm started to beep constantly to warn me the boot was open. It wasn't! But the car is 'intelligent' so i couldn't turn it off! Then the bonnet alarm started too! A bit of card shoved in the sensor sorted that out until i could get it back to the garage.
This went on for 4 months, with niggling problems and more serious close-calls at junctions, roundabouts etc.
The final straw came on a wet morning, trying to do a hill start at a roundabout. The tyre had no traction, the engine power wouldn't kick in and i had to screech my way across the roundabout. I turned around, took it back to the garage and offically rejected it. I never felt safe in the car and began to dread driving it. With winter approching, i needed something i could rely on in the wet weather.
In fairness to citroen, i got my old car back and every penny of the extra money i had paid to them. Their service was excellent from start to finish.
