Saxo- Excellent first car!!!

Advantages: Easy on petrol, Insurance, Ignition code
Disadvantages: None that ive came across!!

My first car- Great on insurance, Petrol and tax. I would have to say that a major plus on this car is the ignition code.....I recently left the lights on and the battery died (easily done)...(silly girl) but because of the ignition code that only i know it was impossible to push start this car!!! I then had to go and get a set off jump leads but again unless you know the code you will not start this car!! Which is a good thing if you dont have the ...

fast great handling...and people dont realise how economical!

Advantages: looks, power, handling and HUGE MPG!
Disadvantages: scratchy plastic everywhere, build quality and some terrible ones out there

19 years old 2 years NCB hmm what to buy..... My one and only boy racer car ive ever owned but what a car! Got fed up with my old 306 so splashed out for a 3 year old gold saxo vtr. Cost me £4500 worth every penny Didnt cost the earth to insure and I get over 40mpg! no matter how its driven. I got a 2001 model which comes with the newer 98bhp engine as apposed to the older 90bhp engine. With this engine and the car only weighing around 950kg ...
...top speed of 125mph, pound for pound one of the fastest cars i could get apart from the vts of course! The only downside was the build quality the factory body kit would unclip regularly and the dash is not great however the 2001 + model comes with newer smarter looking sports seats. Would recomend to anyone who wants a great handling and performing car and who has one eye on the MPG. Check my other car reviews. ...

VTS - A Fun Sporty Hot Hatch

Advantages: Cheap to buy, handles well, very nippy
Disadvantages: fuel consumptions not brillaint, dealership parts can be expensive

Citroen Saxo VTS 1.6 16v Citroen is a French car manufacturer that produces amazing rally cars and also general cars for road use some of which are made with the rally versions in mind. French build quality and reliability are often slated but after having 5 French cars they really aren't all that bad, they certainly have character and are very unique. The Saxo VTS has a 1.6 16v (1587 cc) 4 cylinder engine the top model Saxo which produces 120bhp ...
...still have a 1.4 model Citroen Saxo and fancied the quicker top model so I went out looking for one and found a Wicked Red 2000 'W' plate with 90,000 on the clock and full service history for just £1925 took her out and fell in love with her. The first thing I did was go out and buy some good sports tyres for her so her handling could be at it's best, after a while of getting used to a slightly different car I couldn't be more impressed with her, ...

Decent First Car

Advantages: cost, steering, electric windows, security, petrol consumption, can be modified
Disadvantages: brakes, exhaust

this was my first car and i have found that it is a reliable little car that is relatively cheap to run. the insurance maybe expensive as it is a "boy racer" car, especially for males and/or students my insurance is currently £1600 a year modifications are easily available if you wanted to go down that route and spares are easy to get hold of. the car comes with electric windows and a sun roof it also has a security code for the engine and ...

Cheap and cheerful car- Saxo is reliable and economic.

Advantages: Very economical to run, responsive, handles well, fits into tight parking spaces.
Disadvantages: No central locking, can be uncomfortable on long distances.

The Citroen Saxo 1.0 is the car currently sitting on my driveway and is my first ever car. I have been driving for just over a year now and I have no burning desire to upgrade yet. Why? Because the Saxo is incredibly efficient in many ways and is perfect for someone watching their bank balance in these tough economic times. First of all, my car is unmodified and will stay that way whilst I am the owner. This brings me on to the issue of reputation. ...
...of plastic stuck on them and can be seen as an undesirable car. Don't let this put you off. If you look after it, it is a great little runner. I have never had any problems with my car. I get the Saxo serviced at my local garage which is down a tiny street where parking is an issue. Not for me though. The Saxo is a small car and can fit into tighter spaces. It does not have power steering which is not a problem as you get a feel for the car, it handles ...
