Citroen Xsara 1.6 Estate

...old mother go for the citroen xsara 1.6 estate. In all honesty nothing! My mom cant tell one car from the next and whenever she is asked to describe a car she always comes out with the classic "well its a blue/red/back one and has 4 wheels!" Good ole mom.

The main reason she went for this car is purely because it is an estate, she has always driven estates and would feel like she was driving in a cardboard box if she drove ...
...wanted her to have a nice little small car but there was no stopping my mom getting her estate. She had seen many other cars but instantly fell in love with this citroen. And one of the main advantages for my mom was the power steering which makes it feel like your driving a smaller car, which is quite a relief as my mom is getting on a bit and doesnt need to be struggling with the steering (like i do with my trusted skoda!)

My mom has recently brought this car after her good old faithful vauxhall astra estate died after 12 good ole' years. (well it didnt really die - it was still going great but needed a lot of money for it to pass the MOT, so we passed it onto one of our friends who is a banger racer where it made fame in destruction derby 2 ps2 game).

Anyway, back to the citroen. Well what a totally fantastic car and totally suited for my mom.

Its boasts the features of central locking, electric windows, a great heating system and huge boot space(so big you could probably sleep in there!). Well those are probably the features my mom would tell you about.

As for me the stereo is great with controls on the steering panel i like nothing more than driving about being able to change channels when that boring song comes on the radio. Yes you've guessed it im a channel flicker so now i can flick til my hearts content without taking my eyes off the road.

There is loads of space in this car and would be a god send as a family car (or for someone who likes estates like my mom). I would totally recommend this car to everyone and of all ages as well as it caters for young and old in features like the sound system, power steering and spotlights for those who like the accessories.

I would say the only disadvantage this car has is where the spare tyre is located. Its underneath the car so is very awkward to get to and access it. The best place for you to get a flat tyre in this car is in the garage so they can put the car on the ramps to get to the spare tyre!!

And for the more safety conscious ones of you out there it does only have one airbag which is located on the steering wheel for the driver.

We brought the T reg for £1900 from a local second hand garage, and obviously prices will vary depending on age, mileage, condition etc., but we cant compain with the great buy we got and are very happy with this car. I tend to drive this car more than my mom nowadays because i have usually nicked off with it without her knowing.
