The pleasure of driving a car

Advantages: stability, braking, comfort
Disadvantages: the back vision can be to improve

...say that I arrived To Citroen after successive disappointments of the Italian marks. in particular Lancia and Alfa Romeo of which the engines heated way excessive. since improvements were carried out to solve this problem.

During many years, I did not bought a follower of Citroen because I reproached the mark his absence of quality in the interior completion in the models of the segment " lower average " and to privilege ...

The Citroen firm always had like concern of carrying out determining technical innovations and allowed car industry Frenchwoman to make technological progress by effect of synergy.

In 1991, arrived on the automobile market of Zx marks a rupture with the strategy of Citroen, the quality of the completion makes real progress on this segment. When the renewal of my car was necessary, Xsara 1,8 was for me a good compromise.

Citroen Xsara 1.4, 8v 5dr hatch. Tempting??

Advantages: New Shape, nice funky design, handy gadgets, nice sized boot.
Disadvantages: French Design, expensive parts and servicing costs

power and cutting out, i only owned the car for about 3 months in total but Citroen had it most of the time, driving round in their unpractical courtesy cars. They could never find any problem with the car. After many months Citroen gave me a mega deal on a brand new Xsara, i got £1500 more for my old Xsara than i paid for it. My new Xsara turned up, metallic Blue, thistime on a 53 Reg. The new Xsara was just as the old one, same spec, if you have never driven a Xsara and you are thinking of buying one here i have put together a few points to consider. When driving away from a standstill the car seems to have a flat point, requires alot more than normal acceleration, The clutch is strange too, i found that i stalled about 8 times before managing to leave the garage. The rear window is small because its on a slant, making rear ...

Review of Citroen Xsara 1.4

Just a wonderful car

Advantages: Seat height for entry, spacious, good visibility, economic, cheap, reliable.
Disadvantages: Cannot see front of car for parking purposes, wind noise with open roof

Okay, it doesn't necessarily turn heads like a sports or convertible but, I have had all that, and this has to be the best car I have ever had for its a sheer pleasure to drive, especially on motorways with the armrest down when it feels like I'm at home in my comfortable executive office chair. The wide front shelf is also like having a plush executive desk in front of you. I have the Picasso 1.8 Exclusive and use the cruise control regularly but especially on motorway travelling where it is a boon. My wife and I are keen mountain bikers and we used to have to strap the bikes to other cars we've had in the past but now we simply take out the rear 3 seats and the bikes fit comfortably in the back along with our rucksacks, etc; I lease my Picasso (and this is now my 3rd Picasso) as I have done a feasibility on buying and leasing ...

So impressed, we bought another one

Advantages: Comfortable, versitile, spacious, practical & economical
Disadvantages: Not pretty, some restriction in visibilty due to intrusive door pillar

My first review was written about our then new Citroen Xsara Picasso in March 2004. The car was a 1.8 Petrol engined model, and the review was a glowing one. The performance was adequate given that a buyer of this type of car is unlikely to want to be burning up the road. The economy was good and the really strong points were comfort and space. By the end of 2006 the car was approaching three years old. In that time, fuel consumption had been consistently in the high thirties (38 ish). The car had been in the garage only for its annual services and for one recharge of the air conditioning system. It had taken me, my wife and Father-in-Law around Northern Spain and France on the couple of occasions and done everything asked of it without missing a beat. The only snag we had was a salutary lesson to us all to carry spare bulbs. We lost ...
