I use to own a citroen saxo, and was never going to have a big car, I thrn had a child and my decsion was changed for me, I needed the extra space that the xsara picasso offered.
You have the four door bins and a suitable size glove box, as well as the boot space, as do most cars, but when you look in the boot, on the passenger side you will find extra storage hidden, in which I can hide my St john ambulace bomber jacket, and because the boot has no lip, I don't have to lift my childs buggy over, I can slide it in level with my hips. Then in the back on the floor behind both the drivers and passengers seat are another two storage compartments, in which I can keep my car emergencey kit, plus the three seats in the back are all spilt and individual, with their own over the shoulder seat belts, (no lap belts hooray!!) the middle passenger seat also moves forward and reclines!!. Or if you need extra boot space you can fold down any of the seats, all three seats or completely remove the seats!! Or if you have children in the back, fold the middle seat down, and on the back is a clipboard so the can draw!! and on the back of the drivers and passenger seat is a tray that your children, friends and family can use to put their food and drink on!!! (god I haven't got to the front of the car yet) The front passenger has an airbag that can be switched on and off at the drivers decreation, so you can have your child seat in the front and not be worried about the airbag going off in his face, and he can watch things as we go by. The gear stick is not on the floor, but lower down on the dash board ( you would have to look at one to see what I mean) this may sound un-normal, but you soon get use to it, so again, if you are small you can easily climb from the front to the back of the car if you needed to. The drivers seat can be raised up if you are smaller, and it will give you a great veiw without having to strain your neck to see what is ahead, and the seat belt doesn't cut into your neck as I have found with other cars. the dash board is set across the front of the window screen in which you will find all the information you require while driving. There is no speed dial, you can easily see what your exact speed is in the big number, you can also see how many miles you have left worth of petrol before filling up, and it will even tell you when you have low petrol, aswell as the amber light. When you are due a service it will tell you and if you are driving through an area you are unfamilar with, you can automatically lock all the doors. On the dash board screen you can also see if you have your child locks on.
My verdict, definatly worth a look at, I have had my car for two years and I am extremely happy with it, it holds the speed well as well as picks up speed easily. Even for a second gear take off!!!!

Advantages: Space inside for all of us and for the pushchair and my mums wheelchair as well. Disadvantages: Always in the garage for various electrical problems.
