I purchased a Citroen Xsara Picasso SX Automatic October 2003 from Yeomans of Fareham. Within 3 weeks my problems started.

At this point I decided to look my self. Guess what ....no Coolant Fan Blades. Decided that Yeomans were not be trusted by me. Took the car to Citreon Portsmouth. New Fan ordered and fitted. Overheating problem fixed.

Decide Citroen Dealers cannot help. Start using small mechanic Peugeot trained in Fareham. Great dialogue going. EMS fault codes not recognized by mechanic or Citroen. We have now changed Temp Sensors, TDC Crank Sensor no fix. Nice thing here is he dosn't charge labour when he cannot fix problem. Possibility now is that the overheating problem caused a cylinder head distortion we are going to check compressions next.
I have found a web site with a technical description of the Citroen Multipoint EMS This is most illuminating as it points to a possible fault condition within the Auxiliary Air valve or a the Idle air bypass control (ICSM).
Support from Citroen UK has been abysmal and worse misleading. Dealerships mechanics have insufficient support from Citroen to diagnose and fix problems out of the ordinary. If the computer says no fault then their is no fault. I believe from what I have read on the design of Ctroen Engines they should be out standing perhaps there lies the rub are they too complex.
Little garage mechanics get my vote, perhaps I'm lucky in this regard.

Advantages: Space inside for all of us and for the pushchair and my mums wheelchair as well. Disadvantages: Always in the garage for various electrical problems.
