If you've read Patricia Scanlan's "City Girl" and "City Woman" then you need to complete the trilogy with "City Lives". It follows the same simple plot of the anything but simple lives of Devlin, Maggie and Caroline, once again providing, tears and laughter along the way. Scanlan is a excellent new writer, and the "City" series are by far the best of her works yet. The open ending of the story leaves it possible for at least one more book, which is something we have to hope for because this trio of friends is not one you'll want to froget about in a hurry. A good all round navel which you never want to finish.

New fiction from the pretender to Maeve Binchy's status as the Queen of Irish fiction. "City Lives" is the sequel to "City Girls" and "City Woman"... |
