Advantages: Great storyline, very well written, enjoyable read, more books following the family Disadvantages: The awful atrocious hideous ghastly James
...I never used to be open to trying new authors, but a few weeks ago, I was sent the new Marian Keyes book to review for a website. It was the first Keyes book I had read, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. So when it came to choosing my next book from my ever-growing pile, I decided I'd try another Marian Keyes book while I was in the mood, and that book turned out to be Watermelon.

Advantages: Fabulous, fabulous book with added scenes Disadvantages: lose of family time and housework won't get done til its finished!
...This fantastic book was renamed Cross Stitch in the UK and Australasia, as the publishers thought it was too confusing for us poor readers to have a book called Outlander when there are films by this name. DOH!

Advantages: hillarious chic lit had me crying with laughter Disadvantages: not a Marian Keyes fan? dont bother
...In a few of her books, Marian Keyes writes about the Walsh family. They are a dysfunctional Irish family consisting of a Mum who is a desaster in the kitchen, a Dad who is very quiet, not suprising since he is the only man in the house and 5 daughters each with their own story. Watermelon is the story of the middle sister Claire.
Claire lives in London with her husband James and the story begins with her giving birth to their first child. An emotional and happy time for them both you would think. Instead James tells Claire that he is leaving her for another woman shortly after Claire has given birth. Claire is devastated and decides to move back to her parernts home in Ireland.
As well as her parents Claire two younger sisters live here. Anna is a dippy new age hippy who is away with the fairy's and usually high on something or other...
