~ ~ It cost Euro 3.34 here in our local Tesco’s supermarket, and I’ve used just over half a bottle in three weeks, so a little goes a long way. Even more so, when you take into account the wee lass has probably been using it now and again as well.

~ ~ “Snowflakes on your collar, tell a tale on you.” (Actually, I think it was lipstick) Anyway, whatever way you look at it, dandruff on your collar isn’t exactly a pleasant sight. How often have you admired an immaculately turned out man or woman, only for the whole effect of their sartorial elegance to be completely decimated when you suddenly spot the dreaded white flakes festooning the collar region and shoulders of their ensemble.
~ ~ Dandruff is something that most of us suffer from on the odd occasion. I know that it’s something that the ‘mad cabbie’ dreads. I tend to wear dark leather jackets most of the time, which has the tendency to make the dastardly white flakes of dead scalp skin even more obvious to everyone. And before I discovered that shampoo is actually better for washing out the old locks than Fairy Liquid, I used to sometimes look like I’d been caught in a blizzard! (Yes folks, you actually read that right. Up until a few years ago my shampoo of choice was Fairy washing up liquid) But my wee daughter (11) has changed all of that with her somewhat disconcerting habit of sneaking all manner of toiletries, shampoos, deodorants and cosmetics into the shopping trolley at the supermarket when I’m not looking.
~ ~ One of her favourite shampoos is “Herbal Essences”, and I now have to fight my way into the shower every morning past a vast array of plastic bottles of varying shades and hues. I must have tried out dozens of different brands of shampoo and conditioner over the past couple of years, but I must be honest and say that I was never that taken with the Herbal Essences range from Clairol. (Part of the Proctor and Gambol group) That is, until the wee lass dropped me a none too subtle hint by handing me a bottle of their anti-dandruff potion. (Cheeky tyke, so she is!)
~ ~ The shampoo comes in a fairly ordinary plastic bottle containing 250ml of the product, which is a sort of greeny blue shade. On the front we’re told that it’s suitable for all types of hair, and that it’s made with Iris, Chrysanthemum, and Mulberry Root, all mixed up in Mountain Spring Water. And to back up this somewhat remarkable claim, they have put a wee picture of the actual flowers there as well. Once you flip open the top, then you will doubt their claims no longer, as your nostrils are assaulted with a scent not all that far removed from a bunch of fresh flowers. But don’t let this “flowery” smell put off all you blokes out there, who don’t particularly fancy going around smelling like a ladies boudoir all day. The flowery smell dissipates fairly dramatically once you have used the shampoo, and simply leaves your hair looking and smelling clean and fresh. And more importantly, it does what it claims, and leaves your flowing locks (or not so flowing in my case!) totally free from dandruff. The recommendation on the bottle is to use the shampoo at least twice weekly, but I’ve been using it daily for about the last three weeks now with no obvious ill-effects. Of course, Clairol also recommend that you use it in conjunction with their own particular brand of conditioner, but I haven’t fallen for this particular marketing ploy.

...The clever people at Clairol have added something I’ve never seen on a shampoo bottle before to their packaging. The actual colour of the shampoo is a greeny blue which reminds me of the sea, but I think it’s supposed to remind you of either Iris’ or chrysanthemum’s as when you look at the front of the bottle, you are faced with a picture of either an Iris or chrysanthemum (sorry I’m not a flower buff so couldn’t tell you one from the other) which ... ...the back of the bottle.
This is a great touch and gives a great talking point to the shampoo.
The actual shampoo is suitable for all hair types and contains “Iris, chrysanthemum and Mulberry root in Mountain spring water”, hence the picture.
The bottle comes fixed with a green flip top cap which stay fairly clean after many uses, but you may find a bit of residue. I personally prefer the stay clean nozzles you find on shower gels.

...instead. It is made by clairol and is suitable for all hair types. This particular one that I am using is an anti-dandruff shampoo which has iris, chrysanthemum and mulberry root mountain spring water. I do get dandruff occasionally.
The shampoo comes in a 250ml clear plastic bottle with a dark green lid, and you can see that the shampoo is a transparent light green. One thing I noticed about the bottle is that from the front you can see through ... ...the back of the sticker placed on the back of the bottle which tells you about the shampoo. It looks very good when the bottle is full.
I have never used any of the other herbal essences shampoos, but the label on the back of the bottle tells me that they are all made with natural organic herbs and botanicals that come to us in pure mountain spring water, this will leave your hair feeling refreshed, revived and full of shine. I've definately got the urge to herbal, as the advert says. And wouldn't it be great to have hunky, goodlooking men to wash your hair for you. Wishful thinking?
I have been using this shampoo for quite a bit now and am very happy with the results. I actually bought it because I wanted a shampoo that would ease an itchy scalp. What I didn't want was an anti dandruff shampoo that stinks like Head and shoulders does. After reading the backs and smelling ... ...It is in a see through bottle which has clear labelling with the name of the company, the type of product and what hair type it is suitable for. The particular one I got was 250ml and cost about £1. I bought it from Savers but it is available in a wide variety of shops.
The scent of this shampoo is Iris, Chrysanthemum and mulberry root and it is actually in spring water. I love the smell and it makes the bathroom as well as your hair smell lovely.

I can't stand dandruff - having black hair, it is very visible and makes me feel unclean and dirty! I don't get it often but I use an anti-dandruff shampoo anyway, to keep it away. I normally use Head & Shoulders but saw a 2-for-1 offer on Herbal Essences products in Superdrug so decided to give it a go!
It is an anti-dandruff formula for all hair types, and contains iris, chrysanthemum and mulberry root. This doesn't sound as impressive as some ... ...range, like rose hips and marigolds, but it'll do! It has all the usual blurb on the back about 'natural organic herbs' and promises to leave your hair feeling 'refreshed, revived, and full of shine'. There are no animal by-products and the herbs are grown under certified organic conditions. I don't know how much difference that would make to your hair, but it sounds impressive, anyway!
The smell isn't as strong or as sweet as the other HE products. ...
