I suffer from slit ends quite alot as I straighten, curl and style my hair quite often, and probably dont get it cut as often as I should. My flatmate bought this one a while back so I decided to give it a try, even though Im not normally a huge fan of Herbal Essences.
The shampoo comes in a deep red bottle with a bright green push down cap. It is decribed as a shampoo to prevent and protect your hair from split and dry ends and it does just that. It leaves the ends of my hair feeling conditioned and soft, and so far I dont seem to be getting split ends as quickly as I normally do. It is supposed to be raspberry flavoured, however I dont think it really smells like raspberries. It does have that lovely fruity smell that stays with your hair for hours afterwards that Herbal Essences are so well known for, but it definitely does not remind me of raspberries - which is one of my favourite scents.Although this shampoo does what it says on the bottle and does condition the ends of my hair, it does leave the rest of my hair feeling heavy and a bit greasy, especially when combined with the beautiful ends conditioner. At first I thought i just wasnt rinsing it out well enough as it is quite a rich shampoo, but after using it several times and rinsing my hair more and more thoroughly each time, I have come to the conclusion that this shampoo just leaves my hair feeling heavy and greasy - which is not what I want.
The smaller bottles usually cost around £2, however the big bottles are half price in Boots at the minute at £1.75 which is a bargain if you like this shampoo. Failing that you can usually find the smaller bottles in good pound shops for the low price of - yep - £1.Overall though I wouldnt recommend this shampoo or the matching conditioner. It might be different on different hair types, but it leaves mine feeling as though it needs to be washed again as soon as its dry.
