Advantages Adds a bit of volume, lasting gorgeous smell

Disadvantages None

I saw the advert for Herbal Essences Fruit Fusion new citrus lift on the telly which claims to give you lots of volume, and as I love citrusy smells and had felt my hair was looking a bit flat I thought I would try it.

I have medium length (just below shoulders) straight normal hair.

I bought it in Boots - they only had the larger 400ml bottles for £2.99. It was easy to spot amongst the Herbal Essences range as is a bright orange bottle. It is in the same style as their other products with the Herbal essences logo but with some oranges in the middle. It states the fruit extracts - tangerine, lemongrass and aloe vera, that it gives uplifting volume and is for fine to normal hair.

On the back it claims "Delight yourself in a juicy, energising experience. Fruity and luxurious, this nourishing conditioner, blended with fruit extracts, will leave you feeling revitalised and your hair at its most beautiful" It also claims to "Nourish your hair weightlessly. Reveal radiantly shiny hair that is full of life. Leaves your hair manageable and easy to style"

It also has directions for use and the list of ingredients.

When you open the bottle straight away the gorgeous citrus smell hits you - you can really smell tangerines. It has a nice creamy texture in a peach colour which isn't too thick. I use a small palm-full to smooth into my hair and in my opinion the smell is so nice I could eat it!! When I wash my hair in the morning the smell does help wake me up so I guess Herbal Essences claim of it being revitalising could be true! If you're not a fan of cirtus smells though this is not for you as very overpowering.

I must admit I wasn't really expecting it to add much volume to my hair or I'd end up with a bush on my head! It does actually give me a bit more volume - not like the lady in the advert with her swishy hair though.

I don't style my hair everyday, because I'm lazy with it and I don't think its great for your hair. When I don't style it, and just let it dry naturally, my hair does have more volume than normal and is lovely and soft. The smell lasts all day as well, so you get lovely wafts of tangerine occaisionally.

When I style my hair, blow-dry and straighten, is when my hair often looks at it flattest - though nicest! After using this conditioner again I found my hair was not as flat as usual. They say it makes it easier to to style but I don't find it any different than using any other conditioner.

They say that to get maximum effect you should use with the matching shampoo, so that may be why I only get a bit of volume as I use a different shampoo.

Overall I think this is a great conditioner and I will definately buy another bottle. It adds a bit of volume to my hair and I love the smell. If you don't want massive volume added to your hair and don't hate citrus smells I would certainly recommend Herbal Essences Citrus Lift.
