--- PACKAGING: It comes in a minty-pale green bottle, with a darker green pump spray. The writing is dark green, and there is a picture of some sort of flower on the front, in a circle. It looks cheap, and not at all impressive. What's worse is the writing is in Times New Roman, which I think looks quite common and unattractive! The bottle is quite bulky as well. It contains 200ml.
PRICE: I used to buy it (out of habit) from Boots for £2.79 but I'm really annoyed to find Superdrug are selling it for £1.45. It's quite cheap, and easily found in the haircare aisles.
CLAIMS: It promises to be a lightweight formula suitable for all hair types. It contains primose, angelica and marigold flower in mountain spring water, apparently. It protects and conditions hair all day, and leaves hair silky and manageable. So far so good! The herbs are also grown under certified organic conditions, with no pesticides or petrochemicals, whatever they are.
INGREDIENTS: I won't bore you, but here are the main ingredients: Water, polyquaternium-11, amodimethicone, cetrimonium chloride, hydrogenated castor oil, pathenol, PPG-2 methyl ether, hydantoin and parfum.
DIRECTIONS: I don't know why anyone would need directions for this, but never mind! Wash hair, dry, and spray this on damp hair. Comb through and style as normal.

The smell is the same as every other Herbal Essences product. It's quite light and fruity, and I can't imagine anyone hating the smell of this. It lingers subtly for a few hours after application, but doesn't overpower your normal perfume.
I used about four or five squirts of it on my long hair, which seemed enough. I combed it through and blow-dried it, and waited hopefully. It's just like scented water, really, but quite sticky if you get it into your hands.
The condition of my hair seemed slightly improved, but hardly by a lot. It seemed softer, and that was it. No extra shine or managability (but I've yet to find a product to keep my thick hair under control!), as it has claimed.
I was really disappointed. I might as well have just skipped this, for all the good it did for my hair. I expected masses of silky-soft, glossy manageable hair (which might be slightly unrealistic but still), but a bit of softness? No volume, shine, managability? What's the point of this product then, at all?
One thing though: if you have a knot in your hair, spray a little of this directly onto it and use a comb to untangle it. It makes a good detangling spray. Also, if you've been in a smoky pub/bar, then I imagine this would be good for freshening your hair, but it's not practical to carry around with you - it stands roughly 20cm tall.
I tried conditioning with a normal conditioner before using this though - I got the shiny hair I wanted! It did seem to work slightly better alongside a proper conditioner, but I wanted a leave-in one to replace the whole hanging around for 3 minutes and rinsing bit you need to do with a normal conditioner.
It doesn't do your hair any harm, okay, but it doesn't do any good either! I imagine this would be good though, if you've been in a smoky pub or something and want to freshen the smell of your hair, but it's not exactly easy to carry in your bag - it's about 20cm tall, at a guess.
If you want a detangling spray/hair freshener, then this is a cheap option, and is effective, but as a leave-in conditioner, it's crap and I don't recommend it at all.
Advantages: It smells OK and does detangle wet hair Disadvantages: Doesn't seem to condition the hair
...what have we here? Clairol Herbal Essences Leave-In Conditioner beckoning to me from Sainsbury’s shelves. It’s really a rather private little bottle, not loud and garish, just nestling quietly with its pale blue good looks and dark green aerosol lid.
It claims to be a lightweight formula for all hair types and the 200ml bottle (I believe this is the only size) comes in at the grand total of £2.79 – worth a try methinks. I love ... ...a gloopy mixture, it is based in “Mountain Spring Water” and is sprayed onto the hair after shampooing.
Now hold on, do we girls really want to smell of “Primrose, Angelica and Marigold flowers?” it all sounds rather aged-spinster-aunt for my liking. However the smell is mild and pleasant enough and to be honest I would never have picked out the smell as being even flowery, let alone honed it down to these particular blooms.

Advantages: Works well Disadvantages: feels a little sticky
I have never been one to use conditioners on my hair. With me as long as I have used a good Shampoo, there seemed no need.
Over the last few months I have been having my hair coloured and noticed that it wasn't feeling or looking the same, Nothing drastic I might add.
So I thought maybe a conditioner would help, but as I never really used them I didn't know where to start. I spent ages looking at all the different conditioners that were on offer, ... ...thought were a tad expensive.
I settled for HERBAL ESSENCES LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER.(containing primrose, Angelica and Marigold Flower in mountain spring water). I had used their shampoos in the past and seemed to get on with these ok.
I paid 2.79 for 200ml, which for a brand name didn't seem overly expensive.
These prices seem to vary from shop to shop.
The bottle is a very pale green with a dark green pump action spray top. It is clearly labelled ...

Advantages: smells nice Disadvantages: doesn't work
I have very long hair and am constantly on the look out for products that will tame, moisturise and protect my hair. I love herbal essences shampoos and condtioners and especially their intensive conditioner!
So last summer i thought that in the heat and on holiday i should use a leave in condtioner to protect my hair and give it soem extra moisture. I wanted to buy the herbal essences on but couldn't find it for ages. when i finally did i was so ... ...that is the extent of my happiness with the product. I washed and condtioned my hair and then followed the intructions of towel drying my hair and spraying it on. It has the lovely herbal essences flowerly small but my hair didn't seem to be much softer. As my hair dried i noticed that it was in fact becoming a bit hard as if i had gel in not conditioner. I just wasn't nice at all and my hair looked horrible and hard. Almost crispy!
I was so disappionted. ...
