I have used Clairol Nice'n easy permanent hair colour for at least 20 years and have been highly satisfied each and every time with the outcome. Having a daughter hairdresser, I can always get a good cut and the only job left for me to do is to hide the ever increasing grey. A spare 30 minutes can usually be found every 5-6 weeks to apply the colour. The range of colours is vast starting at somewhere around No.96 which is the lightest blonde and going through the range to Blue/black. I use 101 which is Natural Baby Blonde and now that Clairol have incorporated blends into the colour to give a multi-tonal look, I feel that my own natural hair colour is in there somewhere.! The complete kit retails for around £4.75, but look out for offers and sometimes they can be ,Buy one Get one free, if you are lucky enough to spot them. The box is mainly white with a stunning lady on the front showing the colour that you can expect to achieve although dont expect to aqchieve the flawless complexion or perfect makeup that she is flaunting. The word Clairol is at the top of the box in grey with a grey spot and colour details just under the name. At the bottom of the box in nice shiney writing it tells you of the Colour-blend technology and states 100% grey coverage (thats the bit I like) On the side of the box it helps you to find the shade that will be achieved with different normal hair shades and on the other side you will find the allergy advise. You are given advice on what to do if you get the colour in the eyes and there is also a helpline telephone number for the UK, Ireland and R.S.A. there is also a website address.(dont expect to be able to read this if you have been unfortunate enough to get some in you eyes....just yell for someone)
In the box you will find a blue plastic bottle with Colour formula marked 101 (check this as I have in the past got Ash blonde ) instead of what should have been there. This is bottle No.1. Bottle No. 2 is white plastic and contains the colour activating cream. These have to be mixed together in bottle No. 2 and shaken gently to combine both Formula and activating creme. Before applying the (now mixed solution) to the hair, put on the supplied plastic gloves which you will find in the multi coloured cardboard sachet. Now is a good time to open up the paper instructions which are also enclosed and follow the 3 easy steps. When you have completed the procedures you will use tube No.3. The gold and silver Colour Seal Gloss. There are 6 weekly treatments in this tube so do not try and use in one go. As said before I have never been dissapointed with any of my treatments and for £4+ you get a multi -tonal permanent colour that lasts for 5-6 weeks at a fraction of salon costs.
If using for the first time do try the skin allergy test first and providing all goes well you will be delighted with the results.
