Don't know you, but I find that completing surveys for 20 min and getting 10p with a promise of entering a prize draw which no-one seems to win is a bit suspicious..

If anyone out there is a bit of a sun worshipper like me I am sure you do think of any good tricks to improve the quality (and obviously length) of your beautiful tan. Tanning well is not only about sun exposure it is also about taking care of your skin (both face and body) after sunbathing and making sure you are looking after its condition and not abusing it.
Experts used to suggest we should avoid direct sun exposure between 12:00 and 15:00 and am very surprised this year to notice that some prouducts are now extending this to 16:00, which I do find very sad but in places where summer is actually summer the sun can truly still be harsh at four in the afternoon.
Bad as it may sound, when you go on holiday for a miserable short week you do want to come back with a healthy glow that you want to last for as long as it can, therefore sometimes we are a bit naughty, bend the rules and just make the most of the sunshine abroad that we do not seem to have while we are home! Therefore if you miss the warmth of the sun rays on your skin just like me, sometimes this may risk in a little burn on your first day of sun exposure.
As mentioned
tanning products or oils definitely play an important part in the tanning process: some contain carotene, some this vitamin or that innovative ingredient guaranteed to do the tricks but at the end of the day when you come out of the shower your skin can't help feel a bit dry, warm and in some cases a bit burned . Well let me tell you this a magical product and might work for you!! The market offers creams, after sun lotions but this is the only soothing gel I have seen around and I have noticed how good it worked on me. As you know gel has the property of being rather cool so when you put this product on your skin you do have an immediate cooling sensation which does lower the hot sensation you may feel and have accumulated during the day.
A trick up my sleeve which I would like to share with you my friends is to keep both this gel or any other creams/ lotions you might want to use in a small corner in your fridge ready to be used when you are back from the fride and obviously after a good cold shower. I read this tip in a magazine and thought it was really clever, not only they are well preserved but the cooling sensation you get out of it is absolutely uplifting and you might think "Ahhhhhh!!! Why did I not think of this before??".
This gel is very good, not only the soothing properties refer to the change in temperature but also to the consistency and nourishing effects it has. I have to admit I would use and after sun cream after 10 minutes or so but simply because the skin can be so thirsty and dry after so many hours under the sun that a gel is just not enough and your dermis needs so much TLC.
In this way not only you will be doing good to yourself, but a skin that is well looked after tans well and does not peel as easily as a skin without protection or nourishments. Have to admit though that if you have burned your skin you might still end up peeling as the damage has already been done, but what this product does is to make things better and soothe the area.
This product is by Clarins and as you may well imagine it does not come cheap. I am not saying that if you do not buy this your tan will not be good with an ordinary product, but if you want a little luxury you might be able to afford while browsing around the duty free before jumping on your flight or if you find an offer while walking around Boots or a department store, keep this in mind as I feel it will not disappoint you.
The price for this product is £16.00 for a 150 ml tub and that is according to www.boots.co.uk. I totally agree it is rather expensive so personally I would not by this unless on offer or the seller might tempt you with a good beach bag or beach towel or you make the purchase from ebay or duty free.
This product comes in a carton package orange in colour and with some dark brown and gold writings to enhance the fact that this product is so posh!! Inside you would find a thick leaflet with product description in a few languages plus they do encourage customers to send their feedback if they are not happy with it, which I think is very positive.
The active ingredients which are used in this product are as follows: - Aloe (Alleviates, Moisturises) - Chamomile (to soothe ) - Rosemary ( Alleviates, De-stresses )
You use the product as follows: Squeeze the desired amount in the palm of your hand and apply liberally all over your skin whenever needed. Repeat later if necessary. The smell of this product is really lovely, unfortunately I cannot compare it to anything either fruity, flowery or spicy, it is in a way slightly citrucy but would say it is just one of those "chemical" smells that suntan lotions have which are very pleasant, they are in a way nicely overwhelming when you use them but then the fragrance just vanishes away within 10/ 15 minutes. If you want to really know what this smells like I am sure you would be able to find a tester in a Clarins counter, (they are widely spread) but furthermore for the lovers of this smell Clarins has created a body spray for the summer which has the same packaging (orange in colour though to remind you of the summer!!) of the Eau Dynamisante.
If you want to know more about Clarins just go on www.uk.clarins.com
I would reccomend this product only because in a way I find this unique and very pleasant to use and it gives me good results with no allergic reactions, may be covering your back with cold cucumber slices might do a cheaper trick but if you want no mess- no fuss this could be the product for you!

I always keep my afternoon in the fridge! You can find this fairly cheaply (less than £10) on quite a few websites but I've never tried it. I tend to stick with the Boots Soltan Aftersun Gel. Great review. Alexandra x
