I seem to be standing by the refreshing theme lately so I had to write a review about this product which is extremely fresh!!

I have been going to the gym quite often in the last year and since I find personal hygene is extremely important and would not like the idea of my gym pals holding their breath when they train next to me, I wear a deodorant right before my class and also after my shower.

I first discovered this product through a sample I got over a Clarins counter when I bought a product from their summer range (absolutely amazing) and decided to purchase this.
I find that many counters do not like giving samples away, they seem to give them according to the amount you spend which I find totally wrong, in Italy or France in fact if you go to a beauty shop they give you lots and lots of samples, first of all they are free items with no cost at all which does not affect their normal business, and the counters get lots of those and the whole purpose of the sample is to give the customer a reason to try and buy the item!
I certainly would not spend lots of money on a product if I knew I would be happy with it in the first place. I therefore think that many companies could do more business if the ladies at the shops would be a little more generous rather than keep samples for themselves and their friends (like I have heard).

Anyway, let's go back to the product now!

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The plant extracts present in the Eau Dynamisante Deodorant by Clarins have proven toning on the skin and invigorating on the mood, this because the whole range of the Eau Dynamisante is a blend of light, citrus notes (it contains orange and lemon extracts) which are uplifting and also give you a lasting feeling of freshness and vitality which I find perfect for the gym and overall for the summer too.

The scent of this product reminds me a bit of a classic Eau De Cologne 4711, which might explain why I think this is very refreshing and suited for the summer (when you feel a bit flushed and need a refreshing pick-me-up) but the Clarins version is obviously more sophisticated and feels much less alcoholic than the old Cologne.

The smell is much stronger in the Eau Dynamisante spray, the Deodorant is a bit lighter nevertheless it does last some time and it is good even when you perspire (didn't want to say sweat!), I would say it lasts an hour on myself but I suppose it might differ on various types of skins.

This product contains the following ingredients and essential oils:

-Extracts of Ginseng, Eleutherocoque and Harpagophytum (Tone)
- Extracts of Aloe and Ispaghul (Moisturises and Softens)
- Aloe (Alleviates)
- Caraway
- Eleurhero Ginseng (Anti-fatigue)
- Harpagophytum (Alleviates,Regenerates)
- Horsetail (Stimulates)
- Zinzimber (Stimulates)
- Orange and Lemon (Stimulate and Invigorates)

PACKAGING

This product comes in a dark red see-through plastic bottle with an oval shape, (the natural spray is more rounded), the spraying nozzle is gold coloured and it has a white plastic cap with Clarins written on top in gold.
This bottle is made of plastic which although makes it light to be carried around in your gym bag or handbag, it can't be recycled.

The bottle comes inside a rectangular carton box white and red which can be easily recylcled and has inside a leaflet with product description in various languages and also an extra leaflet with contact details saying that Clarins does listens to its customers so it is open to comments and suggestions (which I find positive).

COST

The product costs £14.00 at Boots, you can obviously find online deals but if you prefer going to a shop Superdrug does good offers now and again and I paid just over a tenner last time I got it. I suppose it works out that the saving is much more convenient that the Boots advantage points you would get.

MY OPINION

The product is a bit expensive, I admit it, it would be much cheaper and convenient perhaps to buy an ordinary roll-on for a few pounds, but I always believe that people should get what makes them feel good and this product has also an aromatheraphy aspect to it which does make you feel revitalized and truly refreshed. It is true you are also paying for the brand but the ingredients it contains are certainly more pure and less chemical than other cheaper brands on the market.

This product also does not stain like some other products and it is easily absorbed rather than create a slippery film under your armpits, which may feel uncomfortable and gives you the impression your skin is not breathing properly.
