Ok, I admit, the title is a little a joke but Clarins is a brand which has been on the marked for a very long time: Jacques Courtin-Clarins opened the first Clarins Institute de Beaute in Paris in 1954. He developed treatments and products using natural botanical ingredients first for the body and then for the face and was the first to use 100% pure plant extracts so their reputation has grown strong through the years everywhere in the world.

This product is my favourite of their range I find this an indispensable hand and nail treatment cream which truly preserves the smooth, supple appearance of hands.

This luxurious gorgeously smelling cream has a moltitude of attributes:

It smooths dry hands
It strenghtens nails
It prevents the appearance of dark age spots
It contains SPF 15 against sun damage
It is dermatologically and allergy tested

My hands get really dry during the winter period and I have tried all sorts of products on the market, some are very thick and hard to massage in, others have a strong smell, others instead are just too thin that my skin still looks dry and "thirsty",

This creamy/white coloured cream is just right, not too rich and oily not too thin, it is of creamy fluffy consistence and easily absorbed, your skin is then supple, soft and gorgeously hydrated and the smell is very pleasant, definitely not aggressive and could last a good 15/20 minutes. Make sure you also massage this cream well into each single nail and cuticule so that they do get every benefit out of it.

You can use it as many times as you want during the day but my preferred time is just before bed when I am a bit more generous with the quantity as the cream has plenty of hours to be properly and slowly absorbed and you know you won't be washing your hand or touching food in the meantime.

Packaging is nothing fancy to be honest, the box is very simply white with red and gold writings, the leafltet inside gives a good description of the cream, benefits and usage instructions in quite a few languages and has details of Clarins contacts around the world in case something goes wrong of if you have any feedback. The tub itself is nothing special, the soft plastic it is made of allows an easy squeeze which means you don't have to struggle with it, on it you will find red writing and just a bit of gold, nothing fancy: I suppose it is rather simple but classy. At the end of the day yes, I understand, we do like a bit of bling when we take our products out of our handbag in public but I suppose this is really on the classy, mature and subtle side where the quality and name of the product does all the talking.

Boots sell this item at £16.00 for 100 ml but also 50 ml and 30 ml can be found over the net at bargain prices.

I love this product and to be honest I would only buy it over the internet and duty free shops as £16.00 is a bit too much for my taste considering I use around 3 tubs over the winter times. Another thing which left me thinking was why the tub was overall slightly bigger than other handcreams of the same quantity of product, I personally think the tub can be slightly smaller to save on "handbag space" and suppose be kind to the environment at the same time.

Overall I would definitely recomend the purchase of this item as its quality is very good and does its job,. Just pop into one of the Clarins counters (which are now widely available and very easy to find, some Boots stores have their products as well) and have a little squeeze of the tester hand cream and see what you think.

Thanks for reading! x

I couldn't justify spending £16 on a hand cream no matter how good it was! x

I'm always looking for a good handcream, although this is expensive. Maybe one for Ebay though! :)
