I usually use a much lighter Clarins moisturiser but over the very punishing winter we just had my skin became very dry and uncomfortable and this HydraQuench cream was recommended to me. I bought if from Boots for £32 which does seem an awful lot to spend on a moisturiser but I did get a small tube of HydraQuench mask and HydraQuench serum free when buying this.
Clarins is very pricey so it's definitely worth waiting until there are offers on - you can usually find somewhere that is giving away either free complementary products in sets, especially around Christmas time, or offers where you buy two or three full price products and get a choice of various travel size products free. One of the aspects that I think makes Clarins much better value for money is that it goes so much further than it seems it will. I've had travel sized freebies of cleanser that have lasted me months, and particularly with moisturiser I have to renew my collection very infrequently - this makes it even more worthwhile waiting to buy until there are freebies on offer. I particularly like the wide tub as it means you don't have bits of moisturiser left at the end that you can't quite get to.
My skin is usually combination - slightly dry in some places but in most places on the oily side but usually spot free and quite soft. I am in my mid 20s and have very fair, slightly sensitive skin. When I bought the moisturiser my skin was in a very poor state and dried out by the cold weather combined with the air conditioning at work - it was rough, tight and uncomfortable. I found the moisturiser very soothing - it has the advantage of feeling very rich, creamy and luxuriant on the skin while still absorbing very easily and not leaving any heavy feeling. I found that the moisturiser really improved the feeling and look of my skin and had quick results.I would definitely buy the moisturiser again but do prefer to keep it for when my skin is in a particularly bad way or when it is tight such as after swimming rather than using it regularly all year round.
