Advantages Leaves skin soft and radiant, use of natural products

Disadvantages Price slightly high as an outlay but will last a while

I need to work really hard to keep my skin looking nice and have tried many products over the years, some expensive, some not. I have found a couple of cheap products that have worked but tend to find that for my skin, I need to pay a little more. The Clarins range has some excellent products and I have never felt let down or disappointed by any of the range so when I ran out of my latest face mask I decided to see what was available from the Clarins range and after a little persuasion from the lady on the counter I parted with £20.50 (at Boots it is currently in an offer for 1000 advantage points –worth £10 – when you buy 2 Clarins products) and went home to see if I would like my latest addition in the ever expanding beauty collection in my drawer!

The Pure and Radiant Mask is perfect for my skin as it is from the Truly Matte collection aimed at oily and combination skin. It contains Tanaka powders and Pink Clay, Alpine Willow Herbs, White Dead Nettle and Linden. The recommendations are that you use twice a week, however because of the price I alternate it every week with a cheaper face mask and find that it leaves my skin feeling extremely soft and cleaner. It works deep within the skin to rid it of dead cells and seems to make my skin feel tighter too. My skin always looks much more radiant after I have used this product and coupled with the softness of my skin, I won’t go a week without using it.

To use the mask you simply need to apply it to cleansed dry skin and leave on for around 10 minutes. It washes away with cool or luke warm water and washes off extremely easily. It does dry so gives the usual tightness to the skin until it has been rinsed away. It also dries a soft pinky / grey colour which is a nice little touch. Once you have washed it away and dried the skin you will notice that the skin feels surprisingly moisturised and doesn’t feel dry at all. To me this is the difference with (some) cheaper face masks. You don’t need to much on each application so it does seem to go a surprisingly long way. An added bonus is that it sits on its lid so you can use the entire product up rather than having to leave bits in the bottle.

Working together, the ingredients all target different things:

• Tanaka Powders works as a natural exfoliator and keeps the skin matte while pink clay gently absorb impurities and excess oil, and removes dead skin cells to brighten your complexion and make it more radiant.

• Alpine Willow Herb and Vitamin B6 regulate oil production and tighten pores, while the Zinc removes excess oil from building on the skin and controls outbreaks on the skin.

• Linden Extract soothes and softens the skin and helps to smooth out wrinkles.

There are also small amounts of coconut oil and palm oil which moisturises and act as a healer for the skin as well as hydrating the skin and delaying the ageing process.

I would point out that this product is definitely aimed at certain types of skin so I would suggest making sure that it is right before you buy it.
