I found this self tan gel really easy to apply and it didn’t streak. It didn’t give me the golden tan I was hoping for but it did give me a nice glow – then again I have yet to find the self tan that will give me the tan I am hoping for (I am fair skinned).
This gel smells really fresh and clean. It goes on nicely, isn’t oily and makes my skin nice and soft as it is quite moisturising. It absorbs very well into the skin and I haven’t had any nasty stains appearing on clothes or bedclothes. Although it is a gel it is more like a creamy lotion. It doesn’t have any added sun protection, which I think the Clarins self tan milk does and for the money I think it should! It also is not tinted so I can't see where I've put it, but I find if I make sure I rub it in really well I usually have an even glow within about 6 hours.
I was surprised to find that this (and all other Clarins products) are plant based and ARE NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS! It is the first time I have ever used a Clarins product and for some reason I just did not expect this from one of the more expensive products on the market – and being French! This is something I’m sure we all appreciate.
I haven’t really had much luck with self-tans, I have tried several ‘middle of the range’ products but they just don’t give me the tan I am looking for(including Boots Soltan and Piz Buin). So far this is the best one I’ve tried but I’m still going to keep trying them out, it’s a pity you can’t get sample sizes to trial before you buy.
I am fairly impressed with this product and would like to buy more from Clarins in the future but they are expensive, guess I’ll have to ask Santa nicely. I bought this product with a £15 voucher my friend gave me for Debenhams!
I’m going to keep searching for my perfect tan, but I have a feeling for some reason Clarins is as good as it’s going to get!

For me there is nothing better than my Boots one - read my opinion on it if you are interested in trying it. I have a year round slight glow which doesn't look fake with no streaks - Helen x

This sounds a bit better than the other one. Do let us know if you find a really good one. I am very light skinned too and look like a ghost most of the year. Yuck. Fran19 xx.

I am startlingly white. I am on holiday in 4 weeks and do not want to burn. I have ben advised to build up a tan on the sunbed, I have been a couple of times but am wary of scary sunbed tales. I am thinking tanning products may be the safest alternative
Advantages: gives a nice glow if applied correctly, and no problem for sensitive skin Disadvantages: lid doesnt stay on, can look patchy if skin is dry
