Clarins call this a toning body polisher, and my skin certainly does feel a lot more toned after using this, although obviously it's not a miracle worker! It's the perfect thing to use before self tanning, as it's not at all harsh and won't irritate the skin.

Exfoliating is one of the most important steps of my skincare routine and one that makes the biggest difference to my biggest body irk - the tiny bumps that appear on the tops of my arms when my skin is a bit dry. The Clarins Toning Body Polisher is one of the best exfoliators I've found and one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
It's both a sugar and a salt scrub and is packed with essential oils - rosewood, geranium, hazelnut, mint, palm, rosemary and shea - which all work to moisturise the skin, as well as exuding gorgeous smells. It has a really fresh, intense and invigorating smell which really perks you up in the morning - initially it's very strong but calms down when you start to use it. To use, you simply apply a generous amount to damp skin - the moisture means that the scrub almost melts into your skin and the grains don't feel at all harsh on the skin, just nicely exfoliating. Make sure you're skin isn't soaking wet as the grains can melt too quickly on very wet, warm skin - I like to use it in the middle of showering and then rinse off.
The effect on this skin is great - this is one of the only scrubs I use that doesn't require a moisturiser afterwards! The oils leave a kind of thin film over the skin which is pretty water resistant so you don't need to worry about rinsing it off. The effect of the exfoliating and then the moisturising barrier leaves my skin baby soft and really smooth, even on the tops of my arms and on the tops of the legs as well (another problem area for me!) Clarins call this a toning body polisher, and my skin certainly does feel a lot more toned after using this, although obviously it's not a miracle worker! It's the perfect thing to use before self tanning, as it's not at all harsh and won't irritate the skin.
It comes in a 250g pot with a screw top lid. The packaging, as you can see from the picture is pretty plain but classy - the plastic pot is nice and thick and without picking it up you could easily mistake it for glass. My only complaint is that the white lid can get a bit grubby, but that probably says more about me than the product! If you're using this around the bath or shower you do need to make sure that you don't let water into the pot as it will cause the crystals to melt before you want them to!
It costs around £25 for a pot of this and lasts me over 6 months using it once a week, which isn't terrible value when you consider average spend per use. It's a lovely luxury treatment and the only exfoliator I've used which comes close to this is Soap & Glory's Flake Away (which is very similar but more salty, while this one feels more sugary)
Advantages: Leaves you smooth, clean, fresh, zingy Disadvantages: Cost
...the expense - I thought Clarins was overrated, but on this occasion I admit that I found this to be a really good buy. It was a sad day when the jar was finally empty. WHAT'S THE PACKAGING LIKE? The body polisher comes in a square, cardboard outer box. The product itself was 250g and comes in a sunny yellow light plastic jar with a white screw-top lid. Open the lid and the product is further protected under a plastic disc with lift-up tab. In the ... ...USE IT?
To use the Clarins Body Polisher you gently massage it into clean, wet skin, concentrating on rough areas such as elbows, knees, feet. The instructions advise you to use it once or twice a week, which means the jar lasts just over a month.
It wasn't messy to use because of the spatula. Getting the product out of the jar is like scraping butter onto your knife. As a fairly solid textured product it holds together well and is easy to control ...

exfoliate as you massage gently. This is really a shower only product - it will leave crystals if you use it in the bath which are always a pain to rinse away.
Where I find this works best is any areas that are really dry - my heels and legs get a good going over with this twice a week and when you get out of the shower you really do feel soft and moisturised (of course, I still apply moisturiser after, being the beauty freak I am!). I also find this works really well on smoothing out the tiny bumps I've have on my upper arms which are a real problem for me. The product I would compare this to quality wise is ClarinsToningBodyPolisher, which has a similar melt on the body effect and costs a whopping £24 from Boots, making this, at £5.86 a pot, something of a bargain! When you add into that the fact that Soap & Glory are currently on 3 for 2 ...

I was lucky enough to receive this product along with the Relaxing BodyPolisher and Relax Bath and shower concentrate, from my long suffering other half, for my birthday last year. Bless him, how did he guess? OK, I admit, I attached a full page advert to his PC, complete with a few pointers from my trusty highlighter.
As a Clarins devotee, I have worked my way through most of the range on my "prescription? from the nice lady in Boots. The Clarins Aroma Body Care range was something I hadn?t used before, and after a trip to Boots to see if I liked the scent, I decided that the range was destined for my (rather crowded) bathroom shelf. The Aroma Body Care range comes in either Toning (yellow packaging) and Relaxing (Blue) and each has it?s own set of Shower and Bath Concentrate, Body Treatment oil, BodyPolisher and Body Balm ...
