Zelda
Advantages: fun, good in Length Disadvantages: dated graphics
...which is you taking on the role of Link, a young boy is on a quest to save the world, and simultaneously saving Princess Zelda. Which in his quest he encounters many people, and other living things, that will help him, and some that will try to interferer with him solving his quest. The game is probably one of the longest games with, various different levels where you get the stones (which open the door to the shrine), and the medallions (which will ...

Brilliant follow-up to Ocarina of Time
Advantages: You can transform into different creatures Disadvantages: Need an expansion pack
...I had read online about the storyline and thought it would be a great game to play sinc I had loved Ocarina of Time. The game continued on from Ocarina, with Link leaving Hyrule. He ends up in Termina, a land parallel to Hyrule, as it says in the instructions. When you first arrive there, you have been transformed into a Deku Scrub by the Skull Kid.
The Deku Scrub has weak attacks, and can't swim or go near fire. However it can hop over water and ... ...for a limited time.
The story and gameplay takes place over a 3 day period. The Ocarina of Time allows you to save your progress and return to the first day again when you want to. It saves everything apart from progress with sidequests and game shops e.g. Shooting Galleries. If you leave it until the end of the three days, you see the moon finally collide with Earth and destroy everything, but your game (other than the sidequests etc.) is unaffected.

Elements Missing In Action
Advantages: Neat controls and battle system Disadvantages: Too much travelling, strictly linear, dodgy camera, no cut scenes
...is perhaps a relief. However, Holy Magic Century goes as far as to putting the controversy into those controversial random battles, with an alarming encounter rate at times - noting it is the battles which had me lose my direction. Perhaps Ayron could do with the experience since the game is a bit tight, but then his staff strike success rate had me frustrated. I specify staff here because there are no weapons, or armour, currency in this game but ... ...individually in a list.
Holy Magic Century's turn-based battle system is one of potential where you can - within a restricted ring - line-up, as well as actively dodge, some attacks. Unfortunately it's not helped by the - already not too flexible - camera proceeding to get stuck behind an object. Then you've got to get your head around how for each of your moves, only one enemy is granted a move - even if it is a group of monsters you are up against. ...

Running The Gauntlet
Advantages: Challenging Disadvantages: Slightly dodgy design, slow-down
...the stolen gold, in the Gauntlet by Morak the Evil One? Only two of the fighters can pass through the portal into the Gauntlet and find out. [-] As such, only up to two players can play in the NES version of Gauntlet... [+] Choose from four unique characters. [+] Controls-wise, auto-fire is present which assists in stopping enemy spawning, however only a single shot from a character appears on screen at one time, so it's not just about spamming attacks, ... ...addition for this version of Gauntlet but these can block routes so players cannot continue on with the game and thus have to reset or wait for death. [+] Password notes player power level plus goods and is only nine characters long... [-] Still, player needs to be careful when they want to write down the password, as they may mix-up the letters and numbers. Oddly, there's no option to select for password entry - how to access this screen is shown ...

Play As A Jenova's Witness!
Advantages: Cool character designs, strong soundtrack, flexible battle system Disadvantages: Minor control issues, polygon clipping in graphics, translation not great
...Theme' tunes which, on replaying Final Fantasy VII, can be pretty touching! PLAY There is some good storytelling (switching of camera shots) as well as bad (playing through largely linear memory sections), but the dialogue sees to sloppy grammar, and has its fair share of typos. Materia means magic, and much more. These are colour-coded for ease of use, and to make the most out of them, they can be paired. Care needs be taken when equipping Materia ... ...do store a personal best for which to beat. Final Fantasy VII comes on 3 CDs, and can take about forty hours to finish, and although not a tough title to complete, there is a challenge in finding the optional characters to find and tackling the numerous side areas. ...
