Reviews of Classic Console & Computer Games »
They don't make em' like they used to.
Advantages: Online play, simple controls, easy for noobs! Disadvantages: monthly fee to play online.
...a trend that all the phantasy star games has followed. However this did not feel a big deal when you felt like you were playing the best game ever made :) This game was and still is amazing, now on almost every platform available, it is a must buy for anyone who likes any type of game ever! ...

Shenmue
Advantages: Everything stated Disadvantages: Can't think of any.
...think I first knew of Shenmue in about 2004, that was when I got a dreamcast. I had bought the old console from a local pawnshop, really cheap, with a few games like Quake III Arena and Virtua Fighter, decent games in their own right(especially Q3A) however I felt I needed something deeper. Iv'e alwasy been a fan of the action adventure genre, good storylines but with good gameplay, and that's what I wanted. So after looking around on internet review ... ...that for any adventure game, Shenmue has my favorite graphics of all. Everything is tweaked to perfection, there are no bad graphics here what-so-ever. The way the cutscenes and realtime gameplay are totally conjoined, the way they flow seamlessly into eachother is just one of the many ways Suzuki's team has creating one of the most engrossing gaming experiences ever. The musical score is a beautiful classic of video game music, epic beyond all known ...

Reach for the Skies!
Advantages: Great Graphics, Fun and loveable characters, Easy to play Disadvantages: Some voices would have been good.
Skies of Arcadia... What a game. After reading a review of this game ON THIS VERY SITE :) I went out and baught a copy of it. It cost me £19.99 at Grainger games, it was brand new and still in the celliphane wrapping.
** PACKAGING **
The game case itself is more or less the same size as a standard Playstation game. The band on the side of the case which supports the plastic lid is blue. The front cover reads "Skies Of Arcadia" and it shows you ... ...and I really hope a Skies of Arcadia II is developed, however with the failure of the Dreamcast, I can imagine due to Skies of Arcadia being so popular it will likely appear on another games console (PS2, GameCube, Xbox)
Hope you enjoyed the op... I didnt wanna spoil the game so left out alot of information or I could have gone on forever. Enjoy the game... I did. ...

Evolutionary Dead-End?
Advantages: Shows glimpses of quality design, likable characters, solid graphics, decent battle-engine Disadvantages: Very short, lack of ambition, dungeons, doesn't come close to fulfilling its potential
...potential.
The story of Evolution sees you controlling teenaged adventurer Mag Launcher, who in a refreshing twist from the norm, actually bounty hunts in order to pay back some rather alarming debt racked up by his family's somewhat fruitless adventuring. He and his quiet 'girlfriend' Linear team up with the cutely-named Chain Gun (a rival bounty-hunter who has a soft spot for Mag) and Pepper Box (the token blonde bombshell). Whilst Mag is a likable, ... ...at the player.
Graphically, Evolution is pretty decent. The cartoon-like designs may not be quite as sharp as Grandia 2's though the characters are large, the town is chocked full of equipment and scenery to examine and the dungeons offer high quality textures and design patterns. The cut-scenes are charming enough and the dialogue often raises a smile, though there is very little in the way of animation - a theme that continues into the battles, ...

PSO for Dreamcast. A fun game!
Advantages: Many races, quests, plot Disadvantages: no online mode
Phantasy Star online version 2 is a great RPG for the Sega Dreamcast. I have been playing this for years, and even played online before they shut down the servers. To start, you get to choose from 12 different types of characters, each with different advantages and disadvantages. Some characters are strongly offensive, and some are strongly support, and it is up to you which character and strategy you would like to create. This game has a good story ... ...for why a ship called Pioneer 1 disappeared as it hit the planet Ragol. You are sent on quests that work with the story line, and during the quests learn bits and pieces of what happened. The leveling up system is fun. You receive a mag, which is a little unit that hovers over your shoulder and increase your stats. You have to feed him, and depending on what he eats, his attribtues increase or decrease. So if you a support character, you might want ...
