Virtua Tennis
Advantages: Great Game with great graphics ! Disadvantages: Non
Virtua Tennis is a great game and has loads of different modes/levels to play on. The game is also quiet simple to play as all you need to mainly use are two buttons.
The graphics are excellent, sound is crisp and the attention to detail makes the game even more enjoyable. The amount of real life sceanrios bought into the game is excellent, i.e playing on clay is a slow as compared to grass which is a much faster surface, this is taken into consideration ... ...from a number of professional tennis players to play as including Great Britains,Tim Henman.
There is also a world circuit mode where you have to complete a number of various training games to unlock other ones you also earn "money" by completing these training games, with this "money" you can buy new kits, energy drinks and new strings foryour racket.
I think the best thing about this game that you dont have to be a tennis fan to enjoy playing ...

NBA in its purest form
Advantages: True realism, suck on this EA Disadvantages: if you complete it too early you may find trouble wanting to go back to it again
...Anyhow if you're a big NBA fan like me prepare to pick your jaw up off the floor cos this game is make you wonder how good the dreamcast actually is. The graphics in it are awesome and no other NBA game comes no where near close in matching this little gem. The little things such as the intro for each game (the lights off etc. and each player is introduced just like real life) really does make you wonder how in fact games are becoming more and more ... ...myself when I seen this.
In game the playability is so good, that even your granny could pick it up. The wide variety of moves (using motion capture) are really good and the dunks are just explosive. Each player looks so real (Vince Carter with his goatie etc.).
The chance to create yourself also allows for extra option which is really good- give yourself an afro with all the tattoos and extra bisceps and maybe you might look like Kobe.
Anyhow ...

Virtua Strike-Out
Advantages: Free Disadvantages: Not worth the lack of money
Virtua Striker 2000.1 was a game i got for free when buying the dreamcast, and it was worth every penny. Whilst not containing the fun, skill or interest of FIFA or ISS, it still managed to divert my attention for all of 20 minutes. Although its an arcade port, it's too slow, there's no run button and most of the time you find yourself fouling the other player or controlling a player 50 yards from the ball. If only there was a run function, a player ...

Very good value
Advantages: cheap Disadvantages: lacks invention
NBA Showtime is an excellent arcade basketball game. However, it"s flaws are clearly because of complete laziness on the part of the Midway development team. They absolutely put NO time into making it a better game. They just ported it over. There are NO ROOKIES! No E.Brand, no Lamar Odom and NO Steve Francis! How pathetic! If they weren"t going to spend any time making it better, they should have brought it out on the day the dreamcast was released! ...

DONT BOTHER READING THIS
Advantages: great game play even for a video idiot like me Disadvantages: I always get beat
...this game. In other words, NFL Blitz 2000 is a great time waiting to happen. Obviously to be the ideal player for one of these games, you've got to at least like and understand American Football - but even if you dont you can enjoy the game for what it is - a very realistic version of a rough tough game.
The most important criteria for any sport video game is the ability of the player's skill to come right through the control pad. If I practice ... ...person new to the game. NFL Blitz 2000 fits this pattern, and fits it well. Player controls are excellent, allowing quick dashes, spins, straight arms and leaps, anything and everything you need to avoid and even bewilder your opponent. The game doesn't do any of this for you however, you need skills to compete and that is how it should be. If you get too clever and the opposing team takes you down, you may commit so many turnovers that your own ...
