I've been using Clean and Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash for about 4 or 5 years now. Having suffered from mild acne for a couple of years, I was desperate to try any products that would help my skin problem instead of slapping makeup on to cover that Mount Everest that incidentally became a little beige molehill of concealer.
This product was still relatively new to the market and promised to unblock pores as well as help combat spots with its anti-bacterial action. Well, it did just that.
The facial wash is quite thick in texture, which I consider the ideal texture for a face wash really. There's nothing more annoying than trying to put a face wash on your face that is running all over your hands. It is a cloudy white colour and contains tiny granules in it so that when you massage it over your skin, it gently exfoliates the dead skin cells away. I really noticed the difference when I used it, my complexion was much more brighter and cleaner. Immediately after washing my face with it, my skin would glow more and look more healthy. My skin was smoother and looked less dirty and oily. And although I still get the odd spot, I started suffering a lot less from outbreaks. Thus began my years of beautiful complexion!!
A pea-sized amount is normally enough to clean your skin, and the 150ml bottle generally lasts me around 3 months. However, as with all products, be extra careful about getting it in your eyes as it really stings!! The product smells quite refreshing, perhaps a little 'medicated', so I think is suitable for use by men and women alike (I know many men who don't like using 'female' products because they smell too feminine).
Although it is a little more expensive than some regular facial washes (it's about £3.79), this product really helped prevent spot outbreaks for myself. I used to use Clearisil, which also worked well, but this Johnson's product worked just as well and also had the added benefit of making my skin feel really soft and smooth with its micro-granules. Clearisil also tended to be more expensive and so I decided to stick with this facial wash. I also tried the Clean and Clear Deep Cleansing Face Wash that was later introduced, but again, I preferred the granular formula as it made my skin feel much cleaner.
I would definitely recommend this product. My skin has since been considerably less spottier and my skin also feels baby soft and smooth. I don't really consider it to be an expensive product especially for the effect it has on problem skin and I really can't see myself switching products, because I always seem to fall back on my trusted Exfoliating Daily Wash!
All in all, a great product, fights problem skin well and makes your skin feel beautifully smooth!! Excellent value for money!!
